Texas CHL - Track the Status

Happy to report, In the mailbox yesterday evening. 5 weeks 2 days from confirmed submittal date in my previous post. The information in this thread helped me to understand that the original submission of documents didn't happen because of the lack of a response email from DPS-RSD. It prompted me to return to IDENTOGO and let them know to resubmit the paperwork. Hope this encourages you as you pursue obtaining your own carry permit.

Applied for initial LTC on 6/4, received plastic on 7/1.

Took class on June 18th.. Applied on line and uploaded docs on June 20: finger printed on June 24: --- plastic license in hand today July 8! Woohoo

Renewal submitted June 11, came in the mail today.

Got mine quick. Only 11 days between getting all my info in and receiving my license.
All docs received on June 28th and got my LTC in the mail today July 9th.

finally got my renewal, 2.5 months later. i had to get my state rep in on the fight. i emailed her on a wednesday, her aide emailed me back on thursday to let me know he was contacting DPS to find out what the deal was. on friday the supervisor for LTC emailed me and said my renewal was approved and mailed that day. i should've contacted my rep earlier. now i can legally OC

All forms received 3/28. Applying under 21 with the military clause. Two months later they send me a letter telling me they want another copy of my CAC card (which I uploaded) to verify my special condition. Immediately sent another copy, still waiting. Called last week asking if they had received all the forms they needed and I was conveniently told that my application had JUST entered processing, that very day too! What a coincidence.

Now it's just waiting background check and application review, supposedly. Anyone have any tips on how I can get them to push this through? It's getting ridiculous at this point, I feel like they're just trying to stall until I'm 21.

7/16 - Took (and passed) LTC class
7/18 - Uploaded copy of barcoded email thingy and CHL-100
7/19 - Fingerprints
7/26 - Online status updated - All docs received; Background Check : Under review; License To Carry A Handgun : Print pending completion of application review
8/10 - Background Check COMPLETED - Print Pending
8/16 - Status updated to MAILED
8/18 - License in my grubby little hands

35 days total. I am not complaining!

Online app and Identigo done in May. Had to wait for class until June 26. CHL-100 and hardcopy of barcode mailed (certified) on June 27. Have not received any email from DPS stating all was submitted. Do have receipt that the certified letter was received.

7/15/2016: went to nearest identogo station for fingerprints
7/20/2016: took and passed class
7/22/2016: mailed in paperwork, regular mail
8/17/2016: online status changed to "all documents received, background check under review"

8/24/2016: online status changed to

• Background Check : Completed
• License To Carry A Handgun : Print Pending

8/30: License To Carry A Handgun : Mailed
9/1: card arrived via USPS

Total time: six weeks even.
