Battle of San Jac wasn't the end of the series. There's at least 1 more segment next Monday w Houston becoming prez. It's Hollywood, not 7th grade Tx History - but I'm easily entertained.

Being Texans is really no different than an individual who was born and raised on the beaches of southern California or one of the boroughs of New York....

There FIFY .... on the other hand, maybe you had it right the first time!

Santa Anna and Sam Houston waving at each other and posturing cannon fire at San Jacinto was entertaining.

I don't remember reading about that in school.

I learned my Texas history the old fashioned Texas way: Texas History Movies.

That's what made the class palatable. Is your pic from the Sesquicentennial edition? That's what mine is. I wish I had an original from back when. IIRC, they were paid for & distributed to TX schools by Mobil Oil Co.

    Wish I had one also.
That school issued comic book on Texas history was the beginning of my love of Texas as a youngster.
Sad that my children didn't get the experience.
Then again, they didn't get near the quality of education either.

You occasionally see them on eBay.
