The OP brings up a serious point. And some nit picky "smarter than thou" folks have completely missed it.
Will we stand by and let this crap spread across Texas? Or we will exercise our constitutional rights, turn out in numbers and show our support for Texas (at least the Texas most of us grew up in)? Will we show these idiots we will not be intimidated? Will we call mayors, PD's, etc.? Engage in protests at City Hall?
Or will we just go to the keyboard and gripe when it happens and spreads.

An anecdote.
In the early 90s I was making fun of all the Rambo wannabes forming militias with stupid names. So I was joking about starting the squirrel militia so secret even the members dont know they are members and other stupid shit.
I thought it was hilarious but folks around wernt laughing and some getting pretty pissed.
Phuck them I figured and did what I do and kept pulling that thread. The more they got pissed the more I phucked with them.
Well joke was on me. Apparently there was a militia type group formed among the employees of the State of AZ and those phuktards blew up, or got caught trying to, a famous water fall feature on the upper salt river. When that came out I realised why they were pissed, they thought I knew about their super secret fan boy club or they knew what was up and wanted no part of it and thought I was calling attention to it. A slow motion train wreck was ensuing.
I also had some long winded explaining to do about the coincidence and if I knew anything. I was making fun of the stupidity of a bunch of wannabes who cant get past their own gut to sit in a boot at a restaurant thinking they are going to do anything but be out of wind as soon as the carry a rifle 20 yards. The whole premise is so preposterous that its hilarious.
The point, one Hoji and others are making, is to STFU. The internet is forever. Those are chickens you dont want coming home to roost. Regardless of your intent.
Forming an official militia is retarded. A conspiracy theorist wet dream.
For those looking this up it was before the Viper Militia was taken down. They also included state of AZ employees iirc

Taking to the streets armed and looking for a confrontation isn't the answer. Taking the law into your own hands and delivering frontier justice isn't the answer.
Best way I can see is getting involved with your community, your neighbors and holding your local officials accountable for this behavior to be allowed to happen. And if that doesn't work, then maybe it's time to show your local elected officials that they can be replaced at the next election.
In most cities, the police chief is hired by the city council. If the police chief is part of the problem, take it up with the city council. They have council meetings, and they are open to the public. You can voice concerns at these meetings. If they are failing in their duties, vote them out.
But griping and complaining on public forum, or talking about forming a militia is just more nonsense.

The ones that didn't vote for that "shit" stayed home, a hell of a lot of them stay home on election day, check it out. Look at the percentage votes versus registered. Terrible. As to our unwashed new neighbors my state rep and senator have co-authored the voting integrity law that is about to pass that has dems Turner, Hidalgo and Jackson Lee screaming their little blue-tongued heads off. This will stop takeovers more certainly than a gun or any armed militia. They may need to think twice about turning Texas blue. In point of fact, it got a little redder in 2020.

I want to know when the Texas state govt. is going to present a serious pro-active stance for protecting our state from terrorists.... perhaps open carry is a start in their view.. it's not enough, IMO. The longer we (law-abiding Texans) wait.. the further behind we fall. I would be honored to salute and follow Gov. Abbott in a quest to prepare this state for the eventuality of more of this rioting and burning bull shit. They just keep pushing.. and pushing.. We (LAW-ABIDING CITIZENS) are going to need lawful clear-cut permission to resist.. I don't know what that looks like exactly, that's why I am asking everyone interested to get moving.. towards some visible stirring of the electorate. Remember the guy in St. Louis, MO that stood outside his door with an AR when the marchers were raising hell and broke down the gate to their community. McCloskey. He is now free and clear as he broke no laws, but focused all eyes on the problem in that city. Fact is, he is working on a run for US Senator. I wouldn't vote for him but just the same, more power to him. I would prefer the ex-governor forced out by lies and false accusations from the St. Louis libs. But I am not moving out of Texas.

I NEVER said that I was going to form a militia.. I want abbott to form the militia at some time in the near future.
