    DFW area.....Wylie.
You need to sign up for a CHL class. There is not a 'show us your carry permit & we'll give you a Texas one' option at this time. Unfortunately, you will need to take the class.

    A magic wand.

As stated, you need to go through the same application process and meet the same requirements that everyone does.

Thanks to all who replied it is appreciated. I'm slowly beginning to change from Tn. resident to Tx. intend to select an area and complete the process by thistime next year. This is our 5th season in the valley. Currently we are considering the S.E. part of the state but want to gather more info. Thanks again Curly 45

As stated, your TN license is good here in TX, but to avoid confusion and to ensure that you're familiar with Texas law, I'd suggest that you apply for you TX CHL fairly soon. It could take a while.
