this may not be a popular response - but i thought Cruz really missed an opportunity yesterday.

instead of playing cutesie with Feinstein with the constitutional argument - and allowing them to come back with the emotional response - why not ask her what her plans are for those thousands of guns in the ban list that already exist - what does she plan to do with those? and get her on the record about potential registration and confiscation......they completely avoided discussing anything of substance yesterday and spent a lot of time on the fluff. the 1st amendment comparison is a poor one - because NOT ALL speech is protected by the first amendment. many people think the contrary - but it's just not true

i would have preferred it if Cruz had come back with facts on crime data, and gun control legislation - is her plan a workable solution or is it just an emotional response (which it is)

i love what Cruz has done so far but he really missed a great opportunity yesterday.

Don't see why this wouldn't be agreed on. He definitely missed some but that would have made him perfect, and nobodies perfect.

    Agreed.
Also, Time and place come into account with regard to the 1st, and had they pushed on the child porn subject I think Cruz would have lost that argument.

I am glad to see he put up a fight for it.. but I'd really like to see someone fight tooth and nail for something. Has any one risked their political career on fighting for this?

Perhaps that is why Cruz decided not to push back. A smart decision.

I see your point but he has one too. Their response was stating that child pornography was banned. That's pretty lame. sexual relations with a child are illegal so there is no 1st amendment right to say, publish a book about it.

It also seemed like they didn't give him a lot of time. Maybe as he gains experience he will learn to use his limited time better.

Cruz has a style -and he's going to find that berating an old woman - even one like Feinstein -isnt going to play well in the press

i was on the elliptical yesterday at the gym and CNN was giving Feinstein the chance to tell how she was mistreated - how she was the victim, poor poor me - because of the bully Ted Cruz

we all know thats BS - but frankly the press and left - LOVE THAT.....Cruz can't be a bull in a china shop all the time - he needs to remember who his audience and enemy are - they are different in every situation

aside from the obvious child porn argument - there are MANY other types of speech that are not protected - so using that as your leverage in a 2D argument is 1st year law school student stuff - he should be better than that. it's a straw man argument in my opinion

apples to oranges. stick to the facts - find the facts that support your side -not some theoretical hypothetical - because those get picked to pieces

    Haha. Elliptical...

I think the news coverage on that could be a good thing. Showing Dianne's weakness and desperation on the matter.

I think part of our problem is we worry too much about how things will be spun on the MSM. Let her have it and encourage more to do the same.

Let the chips fall where they may.

i'm almost 50, and had surgery on the knee and ankle on the same leg....so 45 minutes on that sweat machine is better than nothing at all

    dont laugh

Haha sorry. It reminds me of a funny story concerning my mother in law. Ever since then, I've seen ellipticals as silly machines. And you are right, that is better than nothing at all. I know people with very minor injuries, using them as excuses to be lazy and unfit. I have an illness that should have killed me at 12 and have had 8 major surgeries and over 30 minor surgeries because of it. I'm in the hospital 4-6 times a year for 1 week to 1 month at a time and died on valentines day of 2011. I always say, if I can graduate p90x and turn this dying body into a fit body and enhancing my health through cycling, running, and weight and strength training, ANYONE CAN. I will probably be dead by the time you are unable to use an elliptical, so no disrespect intended. When you're at that age where you find yourself doing water aerobics, assume I am long gone and do a foam crunch for me.

Cruz is in the minority party in the Senate and the chairman was not going to allow him to have unfettered access to Feinstein... the chair allowed Durbin to make the child porn argument which was out of order as he was not being questioned and it was Cruz' time.

The first and the fourth do not contain the language... shall not be infringed. That is significant when they come up with lame exemptions to the first and the fourth.
