Does a hat exist that is truly waterproof? In other words survive a downpour. I have been searching for one but so far have found them wanting. Any suggestions? Waterproof only, not water resistant. Everything so far says waterproof but in the details it will say water resistant. In my job I have to stand out in all types of weather and I dont care for the hoods of rain coats. A good brim waterproof hat is what I am seeking. Money isn't to much of an object but spending $100+ on a hat to find it doesn't work in a downpour is what I wish to start avoiding. What say yall?

    Out here by the lake!
I used to rub duck back dressing into it.
Tried them, didn't survive a downpour. I have one I just bought from Conner that didn't survive a downpour, I will respray and try again but I think the hard hat option is worth trying.
Spray it? They need to be dressed with beeswax & oil combination.

What about a Filson Wool Packer Hat? Wool is the original Goretex.

I tried to find the Filson rain hat I bought but did not see it on their web site. Then again Filson was bought by some designer & their clothes might no longer be what they once were.
