I would recommend looking into the RCBS hand primer. Squeezing and feeling the seating pressure gives you more resolution on the feedback.
I have a lee hand prime that I can use, but ill look at the rcbs. This is the first time in thousands of rounds that ive ever had an issue with primers not firing so it threw me for a little bit. I switched over to winchester primers for the next batch, but ill give the CCI another go once I get a chance to fire these.

    Sex on the beach?

Does that drop tube really help much?

Local concoction (basically a few splashes or Worcestershire sauce, spicey seasoning, small amount of tomato juice and bud light)

It helps on these as there is almost 44gr of powder going into the creed case.

Here is a pic but it doesn't do it justice the one on the left is just funnel while the right is drop tube. On the funnel powder is up in the edge of the nk shoulder junction while the other is below.

I loaded over 44gn when I was testing. I just tapped the case on my bench to settle the powder. I was loading then as long as possible to so I don't think I was compressing the powder.

6mm or 6.5mm? You loose .5 or more when necking down. I'm at 2.775 coal so well short enough to run in a aics mag. I also noticed this powder is pretty irregular on cut length vs h4350 or imr4451. It's super consistent though and yielded my target velocity of 3000fps.

How do you like the 6mm CM compared to the 6.5?

Never owned a 6.5 but the 6mm has less wind typically and less recoil. Downside is barrel life is typically shorter anywhere from 800-2000rds vs the 6.5 that's 2000-4000rds depending. This one has 1500rds but the throat erosion wasn't as bad as I expected. The new 110gr Sierra and 115 rbt dtac have bumped the 6 ballistically ahead by a good bit. I've ran a 7mm for a good while and my wind calls are typically the same but with more elevation needed I was subjected to stronger wind currents in the atmosphere.

I can't image having to swap barrels that often. How many rounds does your average PRS shooter go through during a season?

Next match I'm signed up for is 300rds but average is 200-250rds plus any ammo needed for zero or dope check the day before the match. Our Texas club matches are in the 70-100 once a month. Some guys are hitting matches as often as possible.

10 more rounds of 6.5 Norma loaded up. Still doing a load work up. Got the tightest group on my last batch with 48 gr IMR4350 seated at 3.10" OAL. Bullets are hornady 140 gr SST. Velocity spread was 40 fps and average was 2697.2 fps. This load was also the most consistent on velocity. 5 shot group at 1.25" at 200 yds off a not so stable plastic rest. All out of a Savage Model 12 Target, boyds thumb hole stock, rifle basix trigger set at 1.5 lbs. Vortex Viper 6.5-20 X 50. Just recieved my shooting mat, harris bipod, and a set of sand bags today so the groups should tighten up quite a bit on the next outing! I was glad the tighest group was with bullets I can also hunt with! Also tested some Berger 140 gr Hybrid Target bullets.

Latest batch are going to be same powder charge, bullet, etc but varying the OAL by .01"

    10 each:

    3.08"
    3.09"
    3.10" (Control)
    3.11"
    3.12"

A slower powder will yield you more velocity. Also just a side note the imr4350 is not near as temp stable as the hodgdon variant so you can see some velocity swings with temp increase.

Spent the afternoon teaching two good friends how to use their new Rock Chucker outfit. We chose to load 45-70 with 300 grain Hornady bullets over H4895 powder. It's for Karen's beautiful Marlin SS 1895 with grey laminated stock. It was great fun and we made some fine ammo this day!

I loaded some 308. It had been a while, the brass was cleaned before I got my SS tumbler for Christmas. I have been loading 6.5 & 223 lately so I felt like I was loading artillery shells.

    Gunz are icky.
Ordered a new Lyman Lubrisizer, misc. parts and a Lee bullet mould.
Fixin' up the gear to make blackpowder loads for the .45-70.
Still shopping for a steel bullet mould.
Going to try the el-cheapo Lee to see if it will work.
