I've been admiring Pythons for years - obsessing over them really.
I could never afford, nor justify, spending over $2k on a gun... My brand new 2020 Python arrives next week!

I'm glad you asked. I very closely monitor and keep records of the GunBroker auctions for the final sale price of all kinds of firearms.
The new 2020 pythons are only available in stainless steel. The only option is to choose 4" or 6" barrel. There may also be Colt Custom Shop options and Talo options I'm not aware of.
New 4" barrel 2020 Python auctions have ranged $2551 to 1725
New 6" barrel 2020 Python auctions have ranged $2675 to 1887
Authorized Colt Dealers are making a nice profit. The going wholesale price from a distributer is $1275 (no matter if 4" or 6" barrel).

For comparison, GunBroker auctions for pre-1995 Python, "safe queens," including original box, manual, etc:
Stainless with 4" barrel range $3750-1800
Stainless with 6" barrel range $3800-2775

Just bought this off of a friend.

Story goes that a guy who did gunsmithing on the side had a friend who was talking about how an M1 carbine could never place in a gun show so Bob Owen took it as a challenge and the guys bet $100 on it. It won second place at some show in Oklahoma.

It's chambered in .357 mag.
