Nice '75! I've been wanting to pick up one of those. I've noticed that they're finally starting to come back in stock, so I might have to grab one next month. I'm debating 44-40 vs 45 Colt.

Still have the ‘66 Remington.

I've got a 3" version of that gun. I've never found it all that unpleasant even with .357 125gr SD loads. Snappy yes, but not painful. Maybe it's the grips? I tossed the little things that came with it and put on some nice, meaty grips on it.

It did improve a lot when I ditched the stubby factory grips and put on larger rubber Hogue grips.
