Well I bought it so I must like it. Yep its the 9mm with changeable mag wells.

I picked it up after work so really have not had much of a chance to play with it.
    First impressions

Its very sold feeling everything functions smooth. Trigger feels good to me but I am not even close to a trigger snob. It is not a light rifle but I doubt I would want to put it in a back pack and go out on a trip with it. I would take my sub2k.

I like the looks of it in person better than in pictures.

One gripe is the stupid cardboard shipping boxes. The box was "roughed up" but the gun survived shipping with no visible damage. I wish they would use hard cases like the charger came in it cant be that much more if they used the same plastic box for all rifles lol.

Is that the Ruger that can accept Glock mags?
    How do you like it?

The 9mm was 525shipped and 20 xfer fee. The charger was 359 otd

The ruger 9mm is getting out there fast when I got it it was hard to find now I see them all over gunbroker for that price. I would assume in 3-4 months it will be sub 500. and may go as low as 450 in 6+

As far as comparing the ruger to the kel tec I don't think that is possible totally different guns. Kind of like a glock vs 1911.

If you don't mind my asking, what is something like that going for?

That's very nice and I'd like something like that.

Well, seeing as I have never touched either one, and the Ruger accepts Glock mags, which would be the 1911, and which would be the Glock?

well my kel tec sub2000 and the ruger both take glock mags

I would say the ruger is the 1911 its feels more solid and well built. The Sub2000 is a plastic gun like a glock.

scored this yesterday off another member. Wasn't looking for it, I'm broke, and I don't even like 9mm that much. But couldn't pass up a deal.

    Gunz are icky.
I have similar, but the grips are checkered, and the trigger, hammer and hardware are gold. I love that little gun.

Just got back from initial range trip with the Tomcat.
    Accuracy was pretty good.
    Cycling was terrible.
The slide hung up wide open on the top three/four rounds in the mag.
Ran 200 rds thru it. Winchester, Fiocchi, and Aquila. Same same with all.
Not an ammo problem. Gun problem.
I think it just needs the snot run out of it to slick it up.
Just a touch on the back of the slide and it snapped shut.
    Ahhhh....the joys of auto-loaders.
Don't care for the wood grips that came on it.
Gonna switch them out for the black plastic factory grips.
The wood grips are too thick to easily manipulate the safety and barrel release.
Trigger kinda gritty but that will smooth out with use.
    Pleasant shooting little gun.
That itty-bitty silver front sight is tough to pick up in lower light. Gonna give it a dab of paint.

That gun really needs oil in it too. I first fired mine when it was a bit dry, and it spit the bit. Often. I oil it up good after cleaning and it seems to cycle fine.

Did you catch any shell casings with your forehead?

My son's school is having an auction/fundraiser and they didn't have any guns donated yet so we bought a Sccy CPX-2 and a limited edition 10/22 wild boar engraved stock to donate.

Bought a second Sccy CPX-2 while we were there for my wife as a concealed carry gun.

I don't think I've ever shot a 9mm with as much muzzle flip as my Sccy.
It's like the little bastard wants to jump out of my hand.
Yeah we will see if she likes it when we take it out. In the hand at the store it was a winner. Online reviews were mostly good and for the price I thought we could give it a go.

Took the Tomcat back to the range.
Fired another 300 rounds thru it. Definitely slicking up but not quite there yet.
Not one fail to eject. That impressed me as the .22 Bobcat will start to FTE after about 40 rds.
Still getting the fail to close thing but only a few times. Had a couple of jams were the cartridge was mushed sideways against the barrel ramp.
Required removing the mag and racking the slide to clear.
Also had a few fail to feed. I think this was caused by the ammo. Was using WWB with the truncated flat point bullet. RNFMJ's seem to cycle pretty much 100%.
Accuracy(out to 25ft) is pretty good. Sights are dead on.
Learned another new thing. The mags in these also need to be broken in.
The feed lips and follower need to wear smooth.
Overall its a fun gun to shoot and we're well on the way to getting broken in.
