High Standard Crusader.

Never been a fan of commander or shorter length 1911's but I have eyed this one for awhile. Previous owner cerokoted it in FDE and came with 3 mags and Strike Industries grips and Novak sights. Only has a 3.5" barrel. This gun is immaculate.

Never have shot a 1911 with a barrel shorter than 5" so I am interested how the kickback is with the smaller barrel.

Cannot complain for $300.

Going to Reds later this week to shot a few rounds down the range,

So far, it runs just fine. Even eats cheap Winchester white-box 9mm.... the trigger though... LOL... not quite with the current crop of striker guns. I was tempted to see if one of my Glock slides would fit...

I know APEX sells a trigger kit and YouTube has the installation video. It didn't look that difficult.


I was planning on getting a SD9VE and putting in the APEX kit but never did.

I found the trigger mod video, where you remove 2 of the three springs. I was pretty stoked.. figured that would do that trick. I got in there and found that the springs were already gone and all the surfaces already polished. :/ I guess Apex is the proper solution, but I'm not too worried about it...

Just got back from Reds and shot 30 rounds from 7 yards with no hiccups. Sight needs to be adjusted as it shoots about an inch to the left.

I found another 1911 this morning I have been wanting so I will be selling this Hi Standard. Damn Texas Gun Trader. LOL

My achilles heel is the local pawn shop. They had a CZ P-07 with comp and suppressor sights on it. Since they let me lock it up for a small deposit... I'll be brining that home in a couple of weeks... I need to finish selling all these spare AR parts to make some room.

Glock 26 Gen 3....sold my LC9 and went a little larger. That it can use the same holsters & mags as my G17 makes it even nicer.
