I have a mosin 91/30 that I have done nothing with. I'll clean it up and bring it. It looks like there are a few of you experienced with them.

Stag arms AR
WaSR AK
Mossberg MVP (would like to do some long range shooting with it)
Ruger MkI for spoon shoot

That might be it. I plan on spending as much time talking as shooting.

I do have my cowboy action guns that are fun to shoot in 45LC (revolvers and Model 92). I could bring them down, along with a couple of coach guns (Model 97 and SxS) if anyone was interested.

Cleaned up the mosin tonight.
Boiling water does the trick on cosmoline. Cleaned up nice - bore is bright. Wood looks like crap.
Case/tin of water damaged ammo from Palmetto will be delivered on the 17th.
I'm looking forward to shooting it.

i thought about getting a case of that water damaged stuff, still might. Have you used it before?

I steamed mine too. Sand the crap out of the stock and re-stain it. I've done so twice with mine already.

that's what I plan on doing with mine eventually. I had hell getting one of the rings off when I was taking it down to get all the cosmo off, and ended up leaving a few marks trying to force it off

That'll definitely happen. I did that the day after my latest paint job. My neighbors probably heard the curse words that left my mouth and the nearest house is at least 1000 yards away.

I got a tin last week from them. Mine had no rust and no damage whatsoever. I was very happy with it. I may have gotten lucky, but I was planning on getting another as well.

Honestly, It's hard to explain, but I will say I am glad I picked up mine when I did. There is just something about them, but I imagine it might be the same for most guns from around that era.

I think its just being able to hold a working piece of history for such a low price. I've considered picking one up but never have.
