How buried were you on that Toyota?
That is a nice color.
It's a gas engine.
Depends what you mean with buried.
You mean that the difference was only $6k, and you paid tax on that...27K of that 33K I paid on the tacoma was transferred to the ford.
Well, that depends on the tax you would pay on a trade vs the sales tax on a new car. If you you have a used trade they offer $10k for on a $50k vehicle, you pay tax on $40k at 6.25% on that, or $2500. If I sell the used car outright for $15k and buy that $50k car with no trade, I pay $3125 in tax. I still came out ahead by $1875.A lot of people that say sell your car private party and reap the rewards fail to realize in TX you are taxed on the difference of your trade and purchase not on the purchase price of the car like in California. So if your car is still worth a good chunk of change you are better off trading it in than selling it and paying the full tax on a new car.
While still on the honeymoon with the ford I will say it was worth every bit over giving up the no balls and small cabin of the tacoma. I Tried hard to like it I did like it when I purchased it but with it getting the same or less than a truck with way more HP in MPG ratings and the cramped cabin.
But then again I am biased to higher HP and torque things.
Buried means that you owe way more than it's worth, also referred to as upside down.

Without pulling out the contract I think I was taxed $430 ish on the transaction.

Glad you are happy, I prefer the Ford too.

Funny you should mention that. I just gave my daughter an early Christmas gift of a new stereo with Apple Carplay last week. Its a Pioneer and it was <$400 installed at Best Buy.Just ordered 4 Kicker 6x8's and a pair of Infinity tweeters for the A-pillar for the f150.
Hoping that will wake up the ride . I'm tempted to install a aftermarket double din receiver that has hands free texting. Riding with Txstetson down to the meet ruined me.

Put 303 Protectant on the new tires. Helps prevent dry rot.Put 5 new tires on my Expedition today. The old ones had 8k on them. Not a typo 8k. 5 years old though. Just like the last time.
