    Frog Lube!

Oh please don't tell me you drank the Kool-Aid, or should I say Frog-Aid.

All kidding aside. Pick an oil you like based on the pretty lable, sweet smell, or catchy name. There really isnt a bad oil out there. Biggest problem woth any of them is using too much. Just about all guns there just need a drop or two used sparingly. Any more just begs for problems.

I got some Ballistol given to me recently and I am starting to like it.

(What is not to like when you can clean, protect and lube your gun and also use it for minor first aid, LOL)

Bad news is the stuff smells bad.

Automotive grease (moly brake grease) for wear areas like slides, AR bolts. Hoppes gun oil (AKA 3-in-1 oil) for trigger parts and general rust prevention.

Whatever oil or grease I have handy depending on what part I am lubing. RemOil works well if you need to spray.

I haven't bought into all the fancyschmancy lubes.

The best lubes for high heat, high friction, continuous duty applications have long ago been developed for the automotive industry. There's nary a civilan firearm that will ever see conditions like those that exist inside an internal combustion engine. I think alot of these fire arms specific lubes are nothing more than a new lable on an old product. Try snake oil. People've been buying it for years.

I've used ATF and motor oil before. Mostly I just use Ballistol for cleaning/lubrication. I use Phil's Tenacious Oil on slide rails.
