All kidding aside. Pick an oil you like based on the pretty lable, sweet smell, or catchy name. There really isnt a bad oil out there. Biggest problem woth any of them is using too much. Just about all guns there just need a drop or two used sparingly. Any more just begs for problems.
Automotive grease (moly brake grease) for wear areas like slides, AR bolts. Hoppes gun oil (AKA 3-in-1 oil) for trigger parts and general rust prevention.
The best lubes for high heat, high friction, continuous duty applications have long ago been developed for the automotive industry. There's nary a civilan firearm that will ever see conditions like those that exist inside an internal combustion engine. I think alot of these fire arms specific lubes are nothing more than a new lable on an old product. Try snake oil. People've been buying it for years.
