    I use a set of custom in ear molded plugs for shooting pistol outdoors. They offer excellent sound noise reduction, the down side is they are so good, it's hard to have a conversation.

    Indoors or shooting rifle, (30.06 and the like) I put a cheap set of muffs on in addition to the in-ear plugs.

    Surefire EP3 for shooting pistols outdoors. I like the black NASCAR edition ones, because they are more tactical, lol... If I'm shooting indoors, rifles, or around comp'd guns, I throw electronic muffs over the plugs. I use the Sordins because they are waterproof and fit under my ACH, which was more important in Baghdad than it is in San Antonio.
