Did it have good brakes? I've only driven a few, but they've all had terrible mushy brakes. Might just be a Ford thing from that era because I kinda remember my Mustang being the same way.

Her recollection is that pedal feel was firm and the braking action was quite strong.

Why? Best car I ever owned was a 1992 Maxima.
That thing just never aged. Rode great. Handled like a dream and would flat haul ass.

One of our best was a 1987 Maxima. Absolutely great car. Fast and comfortable.

Ha. I owned a '55 in my youth, but it was 10 years old. I still had to look at the tail lights to tell the difference.

After 51 years of me training my SWMBO, she can guess 55 or 56 correctly about 2 out of 3 tries. (I had a 56 when we met.) She has always gotten 57 correctly.
