I’ve got a LNIB TQ for sale, only used once (for a demo). Will need a copy of buyer’s TXDL, LTC, and notarized BOS.

I know what I got here, so don’t lowball me; not interested in trades, I’ve already got plenty of belts.

Damn! Hard to walk away from that, but I was really looking for a pre 2012 model.

I never bought one, but I wear a belt every day...
If you have a big bleed you won't have time to take off your belt and apply it before you pass out from blood loss... its the equivalent of a knife at a gun fight, sure its better than nothing but its not the tool for the job.

I carry a TQ but I believe that I could remove my belt faster than I could retrieve a TQ. "Excuse me while I whip this out."

Unless you carry it on your person, a belt is quicker.
LEO posted above you that his is in his trauma kit.

I took a trauma medicine class where we saw a video of a Pakistani being shot in the lower leg with an FAL at close range. It hit an artery. It took a little over 90 seconds for this guy to bleed out with a crowd of people standing around watching. He could have been saved by application of a tourniquet. Having a CAT tourniquet should be standard for any gun owner or person who wants to be prepared.

    Duh...

The whole "who carries..." made me assume we were talking about ACTUALLY carrying one. Not, "oh, I maybe have one in my car, let me run back and get it"...

I work in the medical field and have carried one in my vehicle since I graduated. IMO They are one of those things that are so light and compact there's no reason NOT to have one. Sure a belt will work in a pinch, but to really crank down on a deep bleed a purpose built tourniquet is the best choice. Plus they are only ~$10-20!
