Just as we were casually "allowed" by the ATF to have them, they can just as easily casually decide to take them away. I figured it would not be long before they started to consider doing that.

Somehow, I think this fits pretty good here...

A thought to remember, Marx said, "Remove one freedom per generation and soon you will have no freedom and no one would have noticed."

There was a chemistry professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class.

One day while the class was in the lab, the professor noticed one young man, an exchange student, who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt.

The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting Communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist regime.

In the midst of his story, he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked: "Do you know how to catch wild pigs?"

The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line.

The young man said that it was no joke. "You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat the free food.

When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence.

They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side.

The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat that free corn again. You then slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd.

Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity."

The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening in America & Canada. The government keeps pushing us toward Communism/Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tax exemptions, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare entitlements, medicine, drugs, etc., while we continually lose our freedoms, just a little at a time.

BUT, God help us all when the gate slams shut!

Quote for today: "The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are now outnumbered by those who vote for a living."

I fear that three sides of the fence are already up.

    That place east of Waco....
Prohibiting them is one thing. With the current attitudes toward law enforcement and government authority, enforcing the ban will be the sporty part. How many Ruby Ridges will the public allow? And how many owners of bump stocks and pistol braces will just say "Screw it" and make the Feds confiscate it the hard way?......

I don't think ATF should be regulating any firearms we can own. All of us can have a machine gun, if we have the money. Bump stocks, sbr, silencers, sawed off shotguns, all a big game and absolutely no reason to restrict. I have been watching the arm brace thing for quite awhile now, especially on YouTube and almost always these braces are tucked up near or almost to a shoulder. And the shooters are not one armed men. I wondered how long it would take before a braced pistol would be a sbr. At least in the eyes of the men who want to control us.

My WAG - the KAK Shockwave (of course, the brace on my pistol) because it does *not* come with a stabilizing strap like the others. It's a rigid hard plastic blade that works very well to stabilize your shot when stabilized against your shoulders with your pistol.

It’s perfectly legal(at the moment) to shoulder them just like a regular stock.

I think not, as the shockwave blade is one of the few that actually have been reviewed by the ATF and has its own acceptance letter.

Therein lies the problem. Why is it everyone believes there are only 2 choices? It’s Like a self fulfilling Prophecy. Of course it won’t get better if the people don’t have the courage to vote third party.
Jo Jorgensen wants to abolish the ATF. R’s AND D’s just want to abolish your liberties.

Good luck with a third party. All it would do is, pull support for Trump and help Biden. Try finding a third party candidate this late in the game before November, and someone that those who MIGHT vote for a third party candidate can agree on.

Hell even gun owners can't agree on various types of guns that law abiding gun owners should be able to own. So exactly what third party candidate are you suggesting?

Where does "The Rock" Johnson stand on 2A? He'd be the only one I can think of who *could* run this late in the game, and pull enough votes from both camps to clinch it.

Honestly, I don't know his "political" ideology, or what he believes in, or his opinions on such matters. BUT, even if he were Pro-2A, at this late in the game, I doubt even he could pull enough support, or votes to ypset Trump, or even Biden.

The time to have thought about a serious contender to Trump as third party candidate would have been over a year ago, to two years ago.

One thing that Trump has going for him, is being a businessman. He has done wonders with creating jobs and reducing unemployment across the board that were at historic lows. He has also tried to deliver on his campaign promises and has done quite well there.

Not saying a third party candidate couldn't win, but I wouldn't be willing to bet money on one winning.

The one I have already mentioned in this thread that has been nominated and is running on an actual political party’s platform.

Never heard of her. So you really think she has a snowball's chance in hell of winning in November? She became the "official" Libertarian candidate in May of this year. Is she Pro-2A?

I'm sorry, but I rally don't see her having a big chance of winning. Name recognition and money are big factors in winning elections. I'm seeing she has either.

There were no riots, looting, protests, burning of business, or marches on the White House when Ruby Ridge went down. Some people saw it as a tragedy as to what happened to Randy's family but many people just saw it as some white guy who broke the law and was resisting arrest. His personal actions resulted in the loss of life of his son and wife.

No one is going to riot for you or or some other white guy with a arm brace.

There are a lot of things to die for but a piece of plastic is not!

SO what you advocate to wait till they come for what you want to own. If that happens by the time they get to bolt action hunting rifles there will be no one left to help you fight for what YOU want. and no I do not know what you want and was just using a bolt action as a filler.

You do know that Randy Weaver was acquitted of all charges except for "failure to appear" which was set aside by the judge. He also sued the government, and he and his daughters were awarded $3.1 million to avoid going to a trial for the lawsuit.

Not the ATF finest days. Then following the Ruby Ridge fiasco, we have Waco!
