Rushtthezeppelin, I believe that was Bush 1, that signed that bill, not Reagan.
Many things wrong with FDR, but I can get along with programs such as the Civilian Works Program. We need something similar today. Want food or other types of assistance? You gotta work for it. Don't want to work for it? No assistance. There's No Such Thing As A Free Lunch.FDR was popular too I guess, since he was elected to 4 terms as president.
Too bad he turned the U.S. Into a Socialist nation.
Every time I hear some old fart talk about how the youth these days just want government handouts I can't help but see the hypocrisy of voting for FDR.
Teddy was the best president with that last name. The New Deal did nothing to really raise employment numbers and ushered in the era of bigger government.
This could be a massive derail. I'll stop here.

Texas presidents? i like Sam and Sul
I might be racist against French names that aren't cajun. I'm definitely prejudiced against the French. I speak freedom not French. Cajuns get a pass for obvious reasons. As far as tx presidents go I have to give some credit to our second president Mirabeau Lamar for the simple fact that he saved the life of one of my relatives at San Jacinto. He led our forces quite valiantly in the fight against Santa Anna.

I used to feel the same way until I looked deeper than the stories and realized he was the father of progressivism. Nothing but a flamboyant socialist asshole. He's more like Putin than any other US president.I've never heard a Teddy Roosevelt story that didn't make me proud to be an American.
Hindsight is 20/20. He couldn't have known that it would lead to Obama, Al Sharpton, MSNBC, Wendy Davis, out of touch losers everywhere - if he could've seen it I don't think he'd be so progressive.I used to feel the same way until I looked deeper than the stories and realized he was the father of progressivism. Nothing but a flamboyant socialist $#@!. He's more like Putin than any other US president.
No want or need to ever be in DC. It looks like a terrible place. I'd rather stay in the south for the rest of my life. Furthest north I'd go is Colorado or Georgia.Ever been to the Teddy Roosevelt memorial in DC? It's rather Stalinesque...
I've been twice; hard to see all the good stuff in one trip. It was worth it, but those trips were enough for me. The various Smithsonians are amazing as is the Air and Space Museum. The best way to tour the place is to do one of the segway tours. No want or need to ever be in DC. It looks like a terrible place. I'd rather stay in the south for the rest of my life. Don't forget about his trip to the House to direct lobby enough Congressmen to pass the 94 AWB.Sorry to rain on anybodies parade, but why are especially gun owners so obsessed with Reagan when he signed into law the bill that banned civilian ownership of any full auto made after 86? Don't get me wrong he certainly did amazing things with the economy (well really more so by letting the feds GTFO of the way of business growth which makes him and his congress only deserve so much thanks) and a few other areas but I would think that one bill would be a huge black mark on him with all gun owners.
You would be mistaken.Rushtthezeppelin, I believe that was Bush 1, that signed that bill, not Reagan.
