Dan Wesson makes a nice gun for the price.
If I come across a DW 01941 Valor for sale again, I’ll buy it almost no questions asked. I should’ve gotten that instead of my X9, but I was trying for two in the bush….…
Cabot, Alchemy, etc.

Several years ago I found a dealer who regularly stocked DW products and purchased a Valor pistols in 9mm and 45acp.Hence

If you go with the DW you should go with the best millimeter.Dan Wesson makes a nice gun for the price.
BUL ftw? How’s it shaking out for you?
But Armory?Yup, But Armory. The Commander is simply fantastic. The price I paid for the quality of the product is just outstanding. And then the Commander length double stack... absolutely top notch. I just wish I would have know about these years ago, would have been able to save a whole lotta cash and some headaches.

I'm pretty new to the 1911 world. Last week I went into the shop looking at a Colt Government Stainless ($1100). It's a good looking gun, and the Colt name is one I remember dearly. My grandfather was a WW2 vet and he owned an old Colt for decades. If you're going to spend that kind of money why not get a stacatto?

Only problem is, if I bought the gun it would be more of a gun safe queen that I probably wouldn't carry. Too big, and .45 ACP is not a caliber I choose to carry with for various reasons.
I told the LGS guys that, and they went on a huge 1 hour rant about the virtues of the high end carry 1911s chambered in 9mm. Remember, I was living in Cali literally 7 months ago, so none of these were options for me so I never even looked into them.
So they brought up the WC EDC 9 and the SA Prodigy. Dan Wesson, Stacatto, etc, I would definitely be open to these guns if they are of similar quality, I just need to do more research on their carry sized guns.
Okay, so Staccato vs Wilson (since people think this is a more fair matchup), would the quality be roughly the same between the brands?
a few upgrades and it'll run like a raped ape, and it's the more versatile platform.
if you are asking me, it is because, even after making the drive down to Staccato and meeting with them directly, the options they had did not work for me. And unless they did a complete retrofit for one build, for one customer, my requirements could not be met. So, after a few conversations, some chatting, a lot of e-mailing, and a metric shit tonne of research, I chose the Bul Armory options. If you're going to spend that kind of money why not get a stacatto?

I do have a Magnum Research 1911c which is made by BUL Armory. I liked well enough to replace the mim parts . It has the bull barrel an is a great shooter.if you are asking me, it is because, even after making the drive down to Staccato and meeting with them directly, the options they had did not work for me.
