I'd rather fight a traffic ticket for leaving the scene than fight a felony charge resulting from shooting somebody after a traffic collision.

Furthermore, Texas Transportation Code, Sec 550.022 (a)(1) requires drivers to stop as near as possible to the accident scene without obstructing traffic (emphasis added); (b) states that if the incident occurs on a freeway in a metropolitan area, and the vehicles are driveable, the vehicles should be moved to a "designated investigation site", the frontage road, the nearest suitable cross street, or other suitable location...

Consequently, driving to a different location out of the lanes of traffic, if possible, is actually required by law. No defense necessary. "Officer, in accordance with TTC 550.022, I moved out of the lanes of traffic." Even if the other car isn't driveable, two cars blocking traffic is worse than one car blocking traffic, and cops nowadays, at least in the Austin area, will only do a serious traffic investigation if there is a serious, potentially fatal, injury. The rest of the time the collision will be "blue formed" (which is actually tan for Austin PD).

Based off of the released facts, I think she should face some form of punishment. Just doesn't seem justified to me.
