SAN ANTONIO - The unedited version of a video obtained by KSAT 12 News showing the fatal shooting of a man by two Bexar County sheriff deputies will now be made available for online viewing.
The video will include the actual moment the 41-year-old suspect, Gilbert Flores, was shot outside a home in the 24400 block of Walnut Pass. The video also shows what deputies Greg Vasquez and Robert Sanchez did moments after the shooting. Vasquez and Sanchez are on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

VIEWERS ARE TO BE FULLY AWARE THAT THE VIDEO MAY BE DISTURBING TO THEM IF THEY CHOOSE TO VIEW IT.
On Friday, KSAT 12 News obtained video showing the shooting of Flores by the deputies during a domestic violence call. At that time, we chose not to show the moment he was shot.
The Bexar County Sheriff's Office and District Attorney's office have addressed the incident, and commented on the video, which calls into question whether the shooting was justified. Now that there is an ongoing investigation by both agencies, and following additional discussions within our newsroom, KSAT 12 News has decided to make the entire video available online.
Providing the video on KSAT.com allows for viewers to make their own decision on whether to click on a link to see the video. Other than editing for language, the video is the entirety of what we received from Michael Thomas.

Lots of things could have happened that wouldn't be visible on a video of that quality - shifting weight, shoulder moving forward.

Can't call it one way or another...will have to wait for "the rest of the story."

No clue. Video was pretty bad and there was a telephone pole blocking part of the view.

Agreed ... who knows what was in his left hand.

Did both cops shoot or just one?
It appears that both reacted about the same time.

If true, I don't see two rogue cops going off like synchronized swimmers.

'Top of the hill, Kerr County!
I'm questioning why they drug him around behind their cruiser. Not to say they are doing anything deceptive, but it doesn't look good. I won't mention the word "throwdown" but it might come up at some time later and that move may not look good.

Can't tell for sure, but it does look like he dropped his hands before he was shot. And he was still moving afterward. The deputies actions afterward appear to be checking for or securing a weapon. Not out of the ordinary.

His behavior prior to the shooting was somewhat erratic. The ambulance got there pretty quick, so I wonder if it was already on its way because of how he was acting.

All in all, it's not a good video to accurately determine what happened. Just because the moron shooting it says he was "shot cold," it doesn't mean the circumstances by what the deputies acted was incorrect. It will be investigated and the facts presented before a Grand Jury. All fatal shootings in this state go through that...

The People of Bexar County voted Nicola LaHood District Attorney.

He, being a convicted criminal in another life, will be sure to get to the bottom of the shooting without any bias (yea - right).

Other videos of the shooting are in the DA's possession, and they have not been released to the public. Will they ever be?

KSAT paid $100 for the inconclusive cell-phone video taken several hundred feet away and without audible audio, which was shopped to them by a local college student.

KSAT might get sued for millions, because they sensationalized a LEO shooting, potentially polluted the Bexar County Jury Pool, and contributed to the nationwide "Hands-Up, Don't Shoot" narrative (of White Cops capping Black folk).

KSAT is now "covering" their tracks with lame rebuttals of the criticism that has come their way.

I'm sure this will go to a Grand Jury. The Deputies are swinging in the wind, because the Sheriff has refused to back them up in every interview she has given. (Typical of higher management who has no clue of what is happening on the ground).

The deceased was well known to law enforcement. His wife and child were injured in a domestic altercation.

Was it right or wrong to shoot him to death because of his skin tone? Both of the Deputies have Hispanic surnames, so that argument does not hold a cup of water for shooting a fellow with a similar surname. If anything, they knew they were in the presence of a violent thug, however repellent that appellation might sound to some.

I don't know, and neither do any others on this forum.

I'll trust the cops until they are proven wrong. I pray they have competent legal counsel.

    Be well.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office has said Flores had a knife and was resisting arrest when deputies approached him, which explains why the deputies had their weapons drawn. Plus, it is a domestic violence call; and a woman and a baby had clear injuries when the deputies arrived. Flores had previous run-ins with the law, having been cited for possession of marijuana in 1995, criminal trespassing and aggravated assault in 1999, and aggravated robbery in 2003. He's no angel.

The other video has a "closer view and a better angle" according to the District Attorney's office. It is evidence in a Grand Jury investigation, so the fact that it hasn't been released is not a surprise.

Pamerleau, while not being qualified to to the job she was elected for; has not left anyone "swinging in the wind." She's a politician, and is withholding comments until she clears herself first. Standard.

LaHood's history has absolutely nothing to do with this situation, so there's no reason to act like it is a factor in it. Susan Reed was no better.

But as usual, the claims that this was racially-motivated is baseless as it always is...
