I wiped off the Marlin 336C today to put it up safe and sound. On Saturday I launched 80 rounds down-range. That guy hadn’t seen that many rounds touched off in 30 years. I saw the lever pivot screw was working its way out. I screwed it back in. Then I figured, I might as well check the rest of the screws. Three were a half a turn loose and three needed a snug-up. Lesson is- if you work the hell out of a tool- tune it up before you put it up.
