22LR at Academy

That's good to hear. I've been to the Academy in San Antonio (1604) a dozen times this summer and seen no .22 at all.
The mail order guys do seem to have all you want at $0.14 / round if you buy a bunch.

Academy has started a "pre-black friday week-a-thon" whatever sale with .22 ammo.

They've upped the limit to 5 boxes (of 100 or less), or still just 1 bulk box. Don't ask for the brick of Aquila though, it may be sitting out, but you can't buy it (I-10 & Grand Parkway/99 Academy).

They had the usual selection, including more available CCI.

After working eight days in a row I took a day off and went to ASC this afternoon. On my way there I stopped in to the Academy right there on Highway 6 just north of Westheimer to check out their 22LR selection and they had what looked like a full case of CCI Standard Velocity. The clerk told me unlike all the other stores they had a six-box limit, so I snagged six boxes at their most-excellent price of $3.50/box.

Yeah, the one closest to me still has the two-box limit as well. I thought that maybe after the new year they would bump up the limit a little bit but I guess not.

I went by the Academy on I-10 and Bunker Hill this afternoon after work and they also had a bunch of CCI Standard Velocity. Asked the guy for some and he asked back, "Five boxes ok?" So I got five boxes.

Don't know if he was being generous or if they are loosening up their limit policies, but that's two days in a row that I was able to buy CCI-SV for $3.50 a box with more than two boxes offered.

If anyone else gets this same kind of deal we may be further down the road of recovery than some think.

Stumbled into my nearest Academy about 9:00 a.m. this morning. They were out of CCI SV, and Aquila HV, but had two boxes of 1,000 round Winchester M-22s. Clerk said I could buy both. One was enough.

When I went to pay for it, the cashier told me the store had lifted the two box of 50-round limits to six boxes.

Must not have seen it in their weekly flyer.

Just a quick update...

I stopped in to the Academy on I-10 at Bunker Hill today and they had a display case full of 22LR from bulk to higher end.

Thunderbolts and Golden Bullets; Blazer; Federal bulk, blue box, and Ultra Match; CCI Standard Velocity, AR-Tactical, Shorts, and Stingers; and some RWS Target Rifle... maybe a few others that I can't remember.

Go get it if you need it.

Yesterday at the Katy Academy store, they had Winchester M22 .22lr at 1000 for 49.95 or .05/rd.

Only 3 boxes, but I got one. They have a lot of 50 rd boxes of all types, and many 300rd CCI boxes.
