Steaks on Christmas Eve. Our Christmas dinner will be a big breakfast…bacon, sausage gravy, taters, biscuits, eggs. My daughter and her family come Christmas Eve and leave around 1300 Christmas Day to spend time with SIL family.
Christmas day we'll have smoked brisket with plenty of burnt ends, sweet taters, mashed taters, grilled corn, hot rolls, thai salad, and a 6 layer strawberry-chocolate cake.
I haven't heard what the wife and her daughter's plans are for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
My main concern is to attempt to not regain any of the pounds lost during the last year.
Whatever your plans include, have a Merry Christmas!
Since my daugther and her other half had thanksgiving with us, they are doing Christmas with his side so we are on our own.
We considered doing what hour Jewis friends do on Christmas and going out fo Chinese, but the only place here in town is quite a bit worse than Awful, so we are still up in the air about whats happening.
Maybe peanut butter sandwich or something left over from tonite - probably cookies. Going to kids house tonite, no telling what is to eat there. finger food?
Normally I do a Prime Rib. This year I am breaking tradition and just doing a simple honey ham. I can’t justify the cost, in this economy. I could afford it if I had to, but would be wasting close to $200 in my mind. I guess I am going traditional at a lower cost point. I can put that $200 towards a pistol brace, as I don’t own one…
Picked up 3 prime rib roasts, cut 2 of the roasts into thick steaks, covered steaks in coarse pepper and salt. Gonna smoke the roast and grill the steaks.
