I don’t think we’re anywhere near societal collapse.
Not really worried about collapse, rather it looks to be a Socialist takeover under the guise of taking care of us sheep.
We already have had a coup attempt. Demorats are against everything moral. And immoral if Trump is for it. And they are winning.
Harris County/Houston is an ultra Socialist shitehole thanks to the last election. When the Mexicans voted mostly for Mexican Demorats. Sounds racist but its not. These folks just got woke. They could have done this years ago.
No shite no fan just rights trampled and lost to Socialist doctrine.

This is what I am concerned about, not so much up front epidemic or economic collapse, but rather the outright clash between the socialist governments and the people who will oppose them. Let's just say for instance that the idiot governor of California institutes martial law, calls out the National Guard and sends troops to Northern California cities to control the movements and activities of citizens. I used to live there and I know enough secret militia members and strong individualists that a shooting outcome is not out of the question. Fast forward to a couple of dozen citizens killed along with an equal or greater number of Guardsmen down. Do you think this would stay limited to California? No, the other socialist states would jump on California's example and the constitutional loving gun owners would resist en masse which would open the door for the low lifes to come out of the woodwork to prey on the citizens while the government is focused on us.

I would like to say "Naw, that would never happen."

    But with liberals these days...

I agree. It's not likely we will see a collapse of society, but I'm realistic enough to know it's always possible if the right conditions and events happen.

Still not going anywhere. I live in a very rural part of the county, with not a lot of traffic. Strangers or outsiders would be recognized fairly easy. Looters would be discouraged.

I also noticed many retailers and stores in our area, starting no return policies different from their previous return policies.

So these idiots that went out and cleaned out the shelves of TP, will end stuck with it when the panic is over with.

Yes, and I'm so glad I'm old enough that all the kids are grown and out of the house and I live out in the country. When all this blows over, and houses with teenagers and 400 rolls of toilet paper are finally free again, some neighborhoods are going to look very festive.

I'm probably going to have to spend a few nights staking out my front yard with a paintball gun.
