Forgive me if this is covered elsewhere on the forum, but I had some questions. Im a LEO with an agency under the DHS umbrella. The natl firearms unit has began to aggressively recall all EOTECHs being run in the field offices and exchanging them for Aimpoints. It seems like they are moving with a purpose on getting these EOTECHs removed from our weapons. Does anyone know if EOTECH will address civilian owned systems as well? Anyone hear of a recall in which EOTECH will retrofit / refurb those units as well? Thx ya'll.

What is the issue? Did a quick search and only came up with recall notices from 2008. Nothing more recent.

I'm not sure if the links and Info is public yet. EOTECH just admitted it was aware of a design error which causes a substantial poi change when going between extreme temp differences . They are being yanked from service from all US Govt Leo and military applications

Thanks for the info, just got one a couple of months ago. In hindsight guessing I shoulda gone with an Aimpoint or Trigicon. Damn.

Vickers reported that an EOTECH sight failed during one of his carbine classes in North Carolina back in February of this year. He added that Aimpoint was the ONLY red dot to use...

I just went to the website, it is not clear how to go about sending one back for a refund.
Dammit, this pisses me off, I trusted them that they had a good sight

I knew I preferred Aimpoint for some reason.

I've never been tempted to purchase any EOTECH product.

EOTECH's non-disclosure goes back to at least 2007. That's eight years.

A few weeks ago I put a AA battery in a new Comp M4s. It will probably last that same eight years.

I like the sight picture of Eotech. Was considering Meprolight Tru-dot rds, I'm still sure that those are better. I like Aimpoints, just still haven't justified the costs, other than they work of course and have insane battery life, but that's about all I really like about them.
