Both me and Vaquero limited this morning and I think most everyone else came close for the day with the exception of one guy who had his hands full with two grandsons with single shot .410s (which I think was the highlight of most everyone's day, can't speak for everyone but I enjoyed it).
We'll be back out dark and early, seated and ready to start pulling triggers at 6:52 AM in the morning. Should be very good very early where we're hunting with a sharp decline by 8:00 AM.
Let's do this!

All it takes for a successful dove hunt is a great location, attention, persistence and a shitload of shells.

That was a fun, full weekend!
Weather moderated today. Very few birds. Yesterday was cold and damp. Lots of birds.
Warning. TXARGUY is a high energy guy in the field. If you're gonna try to keep up with him, hit the gym!

The well known escapee dog of mine - Pepper. I got some good work in with her this weekend - you know, I was dog training, not trying to hunt birds (cough, cough). At least TXARGUY didn't post my shell/dove ratio.
She had several long retrieves where she saw the birds fall - others, well, still working on that.
Awesome and sweet dog. And quite the bird dog salesman. Definately convinced me I need one.
I wasn't sure what your shell/bird ratio was but I'd imagine it was quite a bit higher than Vaqueros and a whole lot less than mine.
Mine sucked it up big time. I blame the wind LOL.
Actually, and this is not an excuse for my shell count, just an observation; the distances of such large fields were oddly hard to judge, till you get the hang of it. Which is exactly what I was doing right about the time the birds decided they were done flying by and giving me chances to waste more ammo.
Great time all around regardless of shell count.
