I was at the range one day and heard a muffled pop. There was a man and his boy with sensitive hearing shooting a 10/22 I thought was suppressed. On closer inspection it had a bull barrel with built in "muffler" even quieter than a suppressed gun. The $320.00 barrel did not require a permit. Lost the manufactures name.

Do you remember who made it?

Could it have been one of those barrels with a built in / permanent shroud? and the shroud was covering the suppressor? Like this…

I have a 10/22 LVT, and it is amazingly accurate right out of the box. The trigger still sucks, so I put a Kidd trigger in, and with a Mueller Eraticator scope the 3 teenagers and their fathers I have had out to my range were all hitting pennies at 100 yards. It may take a few shots, but they were hitting. That is with CCI SV, which it seems to really like, about the only difference I can tell is the Eley, SK or Wolf has less fliers, but I make my own fliers anyway so I generally stay with SV.
LVT can be a bit hard to find, I think, I got mine about 12 years ago so I have not kept up. It is a little more than a standard, but damn it is accurate.

If you decide to suppress it (and you should) get a threaded barrel and a separate suppressor.

Integral guns are neat, but are more of a novelty.

Whelp… I did it... Ordered everything I needed for a build.

Should be a pretty light lil’ shooter

    • the stock I chose weighs 1 lb. 2 oz.
    • the barrel weighs weighs 1 lb. 3 oz.

Ended up ordering components made by 7 manufacturers, ordered from 3 online sources.

    - Beyers (lightweight bull barrel)
    - Brownells (railed receiver w/vblock and screws, and bolt)
    - Volquartsen (bolt charging handle, bolt buffer, takedown screw)
    - Powder River Basin (drop-in trigger, 2.5lb pull, w/auto bolt release, extended mag release)
    - Blackhawk (Axiom Knoxx rifle stock)
    - Tandemkross (receiver cross pins with detent)
    - Bushnell (red dot optic)

Very nice.....is there any Ruger in that build?
    Funny… never thought about that!

    the answer is no

I did buy a stock Ruger bolt charging handle but decided to use the Volquartsen extended one instead… so I’m sending the Ruger charging handle back to Brownells

Very nice. Perfect for a Project Appleseed shoot.

    Thanks for sharing this info…

I wonder what this is all about (excerpt below)… I mean, when and why didn’t they allow this particular rifle?

“Effective August 1st, 2021, The Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 rifle can again now be used at Project Appleseed clinics.”
