    With the exception of my LCP all of my handguns are capable of firing a 9mm with the proper barrel installed. The 380 and 357 sig can be reloaded using 9mm supplies. So I only stockpile 9mm and 9mm reloading stuff though I don't reload yet I have a whole ammo can filled with 9mm brass.

    I currently have 7 different pistol calibers (not counting .22's)....have to pick 3?

    As far as rifle, I have 13 different calibers, but 3 of them are .22's, lol....

    9mm, 45acp, and 357 I'm a fan of the 357 due to it basically being 2 weapons (38sp) however that seems to defeat your purpose in this instance. maybe instead 45, 9, five-seven? tougher question than it originally sounded. lol

    I HAD done the same thing and gotten it down to 9mm, 357 and 44mag. However I bought my wife a new pistol and the ONLY one that felt good in her hand and that she could work the slide on was the Walther PK380. So now I am right back to having to stock more ammo.... Worked out for me though as I bought myself a Taurus TCP since I have to keep .380 now anyway! LOL

    .45 for everyday carry;
    9mm for pocket/backup/extreme weather carry;
    And the most versatile round on the market: 10mm, for carry, hiking, hunting, etc.

    I really like guns of all calibers - large and small. As most of you know, it is a sickness.

    I've now sold two of my stray calibers and only have one .380 to sell to get down to my 3 calibers. 9mm, .357, and .45.

    My .44 Ruger and .500 S&W are gone! They were fun for a while.

    Time to stock up on ammo.

    Thinking of whittling my herd down to three calibers only for simplification of supplies and being able to buy my ammo in bulk (handguns only). What three calibers would you keep if you were going to limit your stash?

    I'd like to keep cost and availability in mind.

    Give me your opinions.

    Oooh, good topic.

    For me it's gonna be 9mm, .45 Auto, and .357 Magnum.

    9mm more or less for inexpensive range time and a wide variety of great carry weapons, .45 Auto for 1911s (because 9mm 1911s are for limp-wristed sissy boys), and .357 Magnum for things like that Chiappa Rhino and when someone has just gotta die.

    If i had my reloader set up then all i would need would be the 22 very underappreciated round and my 10 mm as its variety of loads would offer everything from a 9mm +p to a 41 magnum pressure i mean a 135 grain moving at 1500 fps to a 200 grain at 1250 to 1300 fps and i have heard of guys pushing the 230 grain to 1250.

    now if was off the shelf ammo my 10 mm still shoots 22lr (AA conversion kit),40 S&W and 9 mm with drop in conversion barrels and using the same mag. The 9mm only requires a lighter recoil spring.

    so if most are not counting the 22 then my call would be the 9mm,40S&W and big daddy 10mm

    .22 LR
    .45 ACP
    .357 magnum

    But I'd make it "4" and keep the 9x19, too. Other than .22LR, it's the cheapest and most common caliber around.
