    May I quote?
Uh, crossed wires, I think. Let me re-cap.

In post #117, you quoted TXI (from post #34) who said:
I imagine a woman who flys off of the handle at everything, uses anger and rage as manipulation, etc. Probably witholds affection and sex as a tool as well.
    to which you replied:
Those of us who have good mamas, sisters, and have daughters should think twice before describing women in such a hateful way.
    My comment
I don't think he was saying they're all like that, just that some can be. In that, I'd have to agree with him.
was an agreement with TXI, not Flash. TXI was the "he" in my sentence.

I think TXI is right that there are women with mental issues who can do all sorts of awful, manipulative things. I think Flash is wrong to say ALL women are like that just under the surface.

In short, I was agreeing with TXI and wondering why you disagreed with him so strongly.

As far as I can tell, we're both in the same frame of mind where Flash's attitude is concerned; he's overstating things, employing demonstrably untrue absolutes when describing human behavior.

Clearer? Or have I just muddied the waters even more?

Everyone needs to change. If we think some person is bad and we are good we have it twisted from the start.

I disagree. I told my daughters that if "either of you have to change to make it work, the relationship is doomed". I attribute that to the success of my 27-year marriage, we both got to be ourselves. Growing up before getting married helps too. Too many changes happen before the age of 25.

I think everyone has a "bitch switch", not just women. The extent of it varies though.

My wife and I are in it for the long haul, better or worse. She deals with my switch and I deal with hers. Well worth the effort IMO.

Yep this I know that I have one but she doesn't put up with it much.

Ben, if you ain't dead it ain't ever too late. There are good ones and bad ones. Like i told my son, the thing about finding what you want or need in one, is first finding out what you don't want. Unfortunately it is not always a pleasant discovery.
I still love to see a woman smile.

Yeah, I think we just got confused. Probably because my last statement about "describing women in a hateful way" was in regards to Flash, not TXI. Bad ambiguity on my part.

I think you misunderstood BC, kurt. Maybe the bold will clarify.

Of course I may be completely wrong too. Doubtful though :p

I had a psycho girlfriend in high school and college and I loved her to death. I came to my senses when she started doing things like calling me and telling me to come over. I refused and she called again and again. Finally, she put her/our cat in the freezer, called me and put the phone up to the slightly opened freezer door so I could hear it crying. I agree with the <25 year old comment. I still shudder at the thought I was thinking about marrying her.

I dated my wife for about 5 years and that was the hard part. I lived in Austin, she in Houston. It took a while to get everything right - stable job etc. After 26 years, life is good. The best thing we ever did was go to pre-marriage counselling at 2nd Baptist in Houston. It was a requirement before getting married there. We had to take tests where I had to answer questions like "How much does a good purse cost?" She had to answer questions like "How much is a pair of shocks?" I distinctly remember two pieces of advice - 1. Do not complain about the amount of money she spends to make her look better (hair, makeup, clothes ...) and 2. something to the effect of if we're in an argument, suck it up and deal with it - it's your job to make the marriage work. I wouldn't do that blindly, but I'm fortunate to have picked a good one from the start.

I fully support females in combat postions. Lots of my friends served in Vietnam. One constant all their stories have....

Female soldiers are soul empty visious. My CSM was female. 89th MP bde. Extremely good at her job. You'd rather get shot in the face, then stand before her.

I could only imagine the devastation unleashed from the cauldrons of hell on earth. From the very gates that hold the dogs of hades......

If she ever flipped that switch'
