I use an iPhone. I've carried Windows, Palm, Android, and iOS. I prefer iOS over all of them but I don't want to get involved in the argument. I'd rather sit on the side and watch.

If you are gonna let emotion cloud your judgement you will be stuck with a sub par product. Don't get emotionally attached to a phone, it's just a tool.

I purchase an iPhone 6 over the weekend after being a Samsung S3 user for the past two years. Had the first iPhone 6 years ago before moving on to an Android phone. I heard the hype that the iPhone 6+ plus would bring me back. Looked at the 6+ but went with the 6 based on size. Figured it would be a smooth transition back to an iPhone.

The phone works as advertised. But, I don't care for the keypad (yes, I tried a couple other ones too), lack of an SD card slot to increase memory, no user replaceable battery, less screen resolution compared to S4, and same look I had on a phone 6 years ago. I know that last complaint is an advantage to some. But for me, I guess it comes down to not liking Apple one size fits all design. With that said, the phone was reliable, good call quality, improved charging connection (but Apple's cables are still junk), like Facetime, battery life was good and like being able to sync and backup my phone via my Macbook.

I'll be boxing up the 6 and returning for the S5. Android's OS may be harder to learn, but now that I know it and have tried Apple's OS again, I like Android better. At this point in my life, I'm looking for more than what Apple willing to give me. The iPhone 6 has left me a little underwhelmed.

To each his own, but I went with the + and GLAD I did, love the real estate, works on my belt as good as my previous ones.

No SD is right, never needed one, got over 10,000 fotos and 500 songs loaded and out of 64 G I have almost 43G available, if 64 is not enough then go for 128G

As for the battery, have not worn one out on any of the 2 Apple fones I have owned but am NO stranger to replacing them on everyone I owned by different mfgs since the late 80's.

Less screen resoultion, but amazingly I have the more impressive screen in viewing

Have never had an issue with an Apple cable, but I understand if you do, take it to the Apple store and they will do an exchange for you.

What is it that you are not getting that the S5 provides, my wife has the S5 and I will ask her, she like me is also an IT Engineer.

I didn't like the keypad on my android so I installed a new one. Apple doesn't want you doing stuff like that.

It sounds like you have invested so much in to apple products you no longer have the ability to see the obvious flaws. It's understandable, if happens sometimes.

Many people have done the same things with businesses, cars, homes, etc when they have out so much time and money in to one product, and have praised a product so much, they can no longer fathom the idea of saying otherwise, or facing those people they had tried so hard to convince.

Let go if the emotion, forget the investment, and cut your losses. Sometimes you have to let go. Emotions will not over rule reality.

Also, if you would set aside emotion, you would realize that an SD memory card offers much more memory for much less money than apple charges. That's the kind of thing you notice when you take an objective look at the product.

Lets face the facts, m'kay? Apple isn't on top because the iPhone sucks. Apple isn't increasing market share every quarter for the last three years or so (except one I think?) because the Mac sucks. Apple is not the fifth largest computer manufacturer in the world, because their product sucks (#1 if you count the iPad as a computer, like they count the Surface). So we can drop the 'iPhone sucks' childish foot stomping. If an iPhone is better for you, that's great. If an Android phone is better for you, stop being a crybaby when people like iPhones.

Like all products there is a lot of adds on's. One can really tailor the product to their own tastes. I like all the fones out there when viewing the high end models, my 2 favs are a larger fone and fingerprint log on, both of which fill my need with the 6+. I did hold off on buy into the Samsung because of the + rumored size. But again, its a big fone and certainly not for everyone. I also use my fone for business and here the larger screen is a welcome size for me, which is why I was leaning toward the Sam and that my wife has one also and she likes hers.

I don't thnk so. There are always a few, very few that no matter what you like, they don't. When it comes to high cell fones I am not sure any fone has a major edge on another one, if so I haven't seen it. Certainly not true way back, but today the margins are very very close. Motorola should have been the king of the hill, but they had success and stopped to rest and in resting they got surpassed. Same thing happened to Nokia. I forgot when I bought the 12 MP Nokia but its features as a fone were light years ahead of anyone out there and it was state of the art for several years, but they rested and that is what knocks a lot of companies off the top of the hill. After almost 30 years in the IT business I have seen the companies come and go, on top with the pick of the trade show and 6 mo later they cannot compete and 6 mo later they file for BK.

I truly hope that you can learn to control them and not let them cloud your judgment. Until then, I will harbor no ill will towards you as I understand that it's something you will have to learn to control.

I loved my iPhone, was getting bored with it, then they came out with ios 7 and i hated it. Switched to an s4. The iPhone is perfect for the person that doesn't want to tinker with stuff. It works flawlessly out of the box and is very easy to figure out. However, how it comes is all it will ever easily do versus the android that you have to make do what you need it to it off the box. Apple is king of the hill when it comes to making tech useful. My s4 had a whole host of gimmick crap that i will never use, so the fact that is missing from the iPhone should tell you something. The reason i can't go back is I've become too used to the back button and swype.
