    Here's my list:

    AR-15 brands that I avoid:

Windham Weaponry (overpriced for what they are)
    Rguns (Self-explanatory)
    DSA (See Rguns)
    DPMS (I actually have a DPMS - a .22 upper and it's great - their 5.56/.223 offerings? No)
Bushmaster (Saw a bolt with <1000 fail in real life, seen more on the net)
Yankee Hill (lowers and uppers still 6061, bad barrels)
Rock River (they feel like they were made from the rejects at the CMT shop)
    Adams Arms (can't do piston)
Ruger (they should stick to SAA revolvers and rimfire)
Armalite (A name means nothing, your rifles are crap)
Del-Ton (Better than DPMS for the price but just BARELY)
Olympic Arms (be prepared to spend more time diagnosing what's wrong with your rifle than shooting it)
Doublestar (Cool rollmark and some neat looking muzzle devices but that's about it)
    Core15 (overpriced DPMS)
S&W (Love their wheelguns - they have no right to make a semi-auto of any kind)
CMMG (Not as bad as others would lead you to believe, but not good enough for me)
Anderson (claims to make the world's only lube-free AR, yeah right)
Spike's (because the owner is a poor businessman who makes me question his business ethics)
LWRC (ovepriced with only mediocre quality)
KAC (Good weapons, but heavy and not worth the asking price)

Anything with a 4140 barrel, anything without a chromed or SBNed barrel, anything with an 8620 bolt, anything made with 6061 receivers, anything with zombie anything on it, polymer lowers/uppers...

    My favorite AR brands:
    Daniel Defense
    BCM
    AAC
    Noveske
    LaRue
    Colt
    SIG
    PSA (yes, Palmetto State Armory)

I am absolutely amazed that your "that company makes suck crap" are still in business. Especially those that have been doing it for decades with their own equipment. A person that can make these huge observations certainly has access to knowledge no one else does ......

Hesse/Blackthorn/Vulcan, Century, Lorcin, Jimenez, and HiPoint are all still in business too. I wouldn't use that criteria as any indicator of quality.

It just indicates Americans are willing to buy cheap shit. Even if it means losing a finger or two and having a .50 BMG bolt stuck in your neck as you visit the ER.

If John Moses Browning were alive today and producing his own line of the AR15 rifle, someone somewhere would post on a forum this:

    Browning AR's are crap!!!!!

In all fairness, that putz shoots more rounds on any given weekend than the 2 of us might shoot all year. I know its a somewhat controversial statement, but I normally listen to what Kurt has to say. He's definitely not a noob.

I was absolutely serious.. but it also has a lot to do with me being too freaking busy (and a little lazy) to keep guns clean enough to run a gun that blows it's crap where it feeds it's ammo.... I shot over 7000 rounds of .223 this year (it was a slow year). I have sold everything I own that is DI because Piston just works better.

Well, I have a DPMS Oracle, with iron sights on it, and it has never missed a beat!
I guess if I had listened to some of the ar-snobs, I woulda thrown it in the river by
    now. Good grief! :deadhorse:

I am pretty unhappy with my diamondback 300 blackout AR-15. It doesn't cycle factory 220 gr subsonic 300 BLK, which some people say I should just accept (which seems to be a load of bs)... It also doesn't reliably cycle factory 115 gr supersonic 300 BLK, which shouldn't happen unless I take it swimming in the mud.

What length barrel and gas system? Suppressed or Unsuppressed? What weight buffer? Is it a factory gun or did you buy an upper and put it on an lower you already had?

Bone stock factory gun, I got it fully assembled and made nothing but tacticool modifications (front and rear sights, bad lever, and fore grip). Unsuppressed. Carbine gas, 3 oz buffer. Going to try an H buffer and see what that does... but if it needs that to cycle the round, that's what it should have come with.

Carbine length gas is harder to tune in blackout. Blackout is really designed for pistol length gas systems. It is unlikely you will ever get subs to cycle unsuppressed unless you open the gas hole up a lot. It really should cycle supers though. Is it FTE or just FTL?

    Browning AR's are crap!!!!!

Sure, they'd post that rubbish but it would be prefaced with "I heard............." That means they read a post somewhere and have no personal experience with that product.

    OT??

I am a semi-pro 3 gun shooter. That is just the ammo I ran through my guns.. doesn't include the 5k or so of ammo other people ran through my guns at assorted demo's and charity events.

    "Off topic"

Think I'm gonna have to attempt a 3 gun match someday. Seems I've either got no time or no money, lol.
