    People need to relax.

This new open carry law is great! I got a new holster for my Glock 21 and carried openly all day long. Rocked out with my Glock out! Only got hassled by the police once.

Anyone have a quarter? They said I only get one phone call.

    Liar.
    Pay phones are $ .50.

    CHUCKLE.

Btw, at least TWO local San Antonio radio stations are broadcasting that OC is now legal in TX, not telling anyone that it is unlawful until 01JAN16.

Since when did picking on the elderly become a TGT pastime activity?

I kinda want to get a fancy leather holster from El Paso Saddlery and/or Tucker, but I know I'd never wear it in public other than TGT meets once every few years.

Quick question, it might be dumb. But if you are conceal carrying, how is the establishment going to know? Then how can they give you a verbal request to leave?

I know some instances some imprint with there ccw, but I doubt that's how most of us carry.

You've hit upon it. HB 910 has made 30.06 signs and the punishment for crossing said signs nearly meaningless. In effect it is no different than a decision to speed or not. If you're caught you pay the fine.

Or cut a deal with a municipal court judge - much easier to work with and used to making deals to people who show up to court and act respectfully.

coming from an OC state I will tell you that the cops will need training and lots of it. Expect harassment is all i'll say because they're going to put their opinions above the law.

They'll also be busy fielding phone calls from stupid citizens in fear of "people with guns".

Also expect to see a lot more 30.06 signs up now.... - but good to know the signs have pretty much become meaningless.

    stewie,

I fear that you're 100% correct about calls to the police from STUPID & IGNORANT "Nervous Nellies" about, "I see a man with a gun & I'm SCARED". = Responding to those 911 calls will waste a great deal of time, result in important police work NOT being done in a timely manner & cost a great deal of taxpayer's money and for NO GOOD REASON.
(One of the longtime members of another on-line gun forum recently said that he was at an airport & "declared" his unloaded & cased handgun to the airline agent. He said that at least two passengers, who were standing in line, called the police & said that, "There's a man with a gun in the airport". = There's a LOT of clueless/fearful MORONS out there walking around.)

Furthermore, FEW LEOs will be "upset" by OC but there will be any number of "politicians with badges" in Austin, Dallas, Houston & San Antonio who will ORDER their subordinates to HARRASS people who OC, until/unless the courts put a stop to that foolishness.

    just my OPINION, satx

I think you are 100% correct. It's one of the main reasons I do not live in the cities anymore and why I love living out here in "the sticks". :green:

I guess I was a bit ignorant before I came to Texas, not that I open carried when I got here, I just thought Texas was already an open carry state, and was surprised when I found it was not.

    Charlie,

AGREED 100%. - Once we're free to move "back home" to NE Texas (My lady is currently in the hospital at Ft Sam Houston more than she is out, so we're "stuck in SA" for now.), I suspect that I could drag a howitzer around, without being harassed by the police, if I chose to. = Our little rural county (population about 2500), percentage-wise, probably has as many CHL licensees/shooters/hunters as any place in TX.
