I ordered the receivers and stabilizers for the aircraft that didn't come with them. Now I'm researching flight controllers and GPS units. Regarding the latter two: All I really care about at this time is RTH/RTL so I don't have to worry about a plane becoming lost and damaging others' property or hurting someone.

Has anyone here been researching GPS and flight controllers for fixed wing aircraft?

Short vid from the first flight. Was a couple minutes in before I realized I wasn't recording.

    Mostly experimenting with the controls.

The DX4 Tx was a little funny. Not used to a throttle that returns to center and it had a lot of dead space before the elevation would actually start changing. I'm used to fine controls and small movements. Will probably bind it to the DX6 once I get the flight modes down.

Flew the QX3 for about 11 minutes this morning. Got 10 minutes of video and a few stills. Ran it around at full tilt for much of the flight and it put the battery at 22%. I'd say it will last a little longer if just hovering around getting video.

Comparing to the 200 QX is like comparing a yacht to a speed boat. The 350 QX3 isn't an exciting quad to fly, but it is extremely stable.

Didn't even bother with smart mode. It's disorienting if you have any experience with quads. AP mode is pretty simple and incredibly easy to fly.

Throttle center is hover, up is up, down is down. All other controls are as they would be on any other quad.

Auto hover feature worked great. Wind was coming across about 10mph and didn't faze it. Below ten feet or so it does have a bit of yoyo effect but I imagine it's to be expected.

Seems to fly about half the speed of the 200.

The only complaint I have is that the throttle dead space is too wide. Especially with the stick being self centering.

The DX4 remote feels like a cheap toy compared to the DX6. Functions fine so far, but feels cheap.

    CGO2 camera

Pretty easy to connect, video quality seems top notch. There is some slight distortion from the lens giving a bit of "fisheye" appearance but much less than I've seen from GoPro cameras. Comes with an 8gb class 10 micro SD card. My 10 minute video used about 2gb so I wouldn't expect to get more than 4-5 full flights of video before having to upload to a computer.

Stability with the gimbal is awesome. I'll have to figure out how to do picture in picture and attach the 808 cam to show quad movement vs the camera shot.

The geofence is set at 100m right now, I had no issues with video signal loss at that range. A couple of quick glitches but nothing bothersome. It does lag a bit but not bad unless you are trying to use it for full FPV.

Connecting to the camera is easy. Turn on wifi, connect, enter password, open app. That's it.

Still photos taken while shooting video look a little dull. Taking them while not shooting video gives better color but some vignetting on the corners. Easily fixed with any editor.

Vid should be done uploading in a half hour or so.
