I don't see that happening soon. FIREWATER and FIREARMS don't mix well with too many people!!!!!!!!!!!
There seem to be some that are 21, 10 feet tall and bulletproof right before closing time.

    bob

The proscription though should be about the two activities, imbibing and carrying, NOT a physical location (tavern) and the action of carrying.

It's already against the law to carry while intoxicated. Doesn't matter where. No need for 51%. Time for that hb308 Bill to pass next year.

Exactly. Maybe we should demand a similar law for cars. Put a giant 51% sign around most of downtown Austin so we can cut down on drunk driving.

Just doing a quick search, looks like there are only 16 states that ban concealed carry of hand guns in bars, Texas is one of them. Here is the article that that number came from.
    http://gunwars.news21.com/2014/across-the-nation-guns-can-be-carried-into-more-public-places/

barely into the article I saw this "Number of states that do not require a concealed carry permit: 5"
    and then this
"Arizona has some of the strongest gun rights laws in the country. It is one of seven states that do not require gun owners to get a permit to carry a concealed gun."

like Vinnie Barbarino, I'm so confused.

Both numbers are "out of date" now. Eleven states now have Constitutional Carry (no government issued license or permit needed).

Technically, all 50 states have constitutional carry. Some more than others... and some still illegally prohibiting carry (I agree states can enforce a "mode" of carry - open/concealed - but disagree about anything that disallows carry in general).

This is exactly what needs to happen. Now that open carry and campus carry are out of the way, a HB308 is definitely needed.

    All have to come out

You don't want 30.06 and .07 to come out. If you know the history of the criminal trespass statutes in Texas and the reason for 30.06 and .07 then you will understand why those are good laws for you.

They protect private property owner rights while keeping any goofy "no guns" signs from enacting the criminal trespass law.

Maybe require the signage to be 35x as big as it is now, done in 4 color press. Make it so expensive to have legal signage that they would just opt to go to giving verbal notice if they see your gun.

Or change it to be that all 06 signage would prohibit anyone who is licensed by the state and has passed a criminal background check from entering.

Imagine if that sign prohibited HVAC technicians from entering a business to repair an AC ( and yes, I am being sarcastic, but you would never see a sign that said "no gays, blacks, asians, ) why should a gun buster sign have any weight)

Agreed! Texas needs to join the ranks of the other eleven (as of the moment) Constitutional Carry states in restoring this God-given right of free men as enshrined in our Constitution's Bill Of Rights!
No government license or permit should be needed to exercise your God-given Second Amendment Right!

Problem is, "intoxicated" is not defined under the law and it is NOT the same limits as for DWI. Some CHL/LTC instructors incorrectly state that any consumption of alcohol while carrying is illegal. That is simply not true.

I'm sure TXI will respond shortly, but Texas law does state that it is .08% or the lose of bodily function/cognitive abilities, something along those lines. It is defined, although somewhat vaguely.

And I read an interesting post over at texaschlforum - why not make it to where for you to have a legally binding 30.06/30.07 sign, you must apply to the DPS for it, and when it gets issued, it has a seal from DPS and your specific address. And if you're a crooked gov't entity, you get denied.
