Well, I stopped by TSSR and got some info on them along with a bunch of pics. I worked on that post off and on for about 4 hours between errands and dinner tonight. Then I go to post and I'm logged out of TGT and lost my entire post. SMH. It seems like we're sold on Shiny Top though so unless people specifically ask, I'll just save all that info for another time.

We definitely need some kind of reactive targets even if we have to bring our own? Just shooting paper stinks.

Where ever we pick needs to at least let us set up the .22 tree.

I'm guessing it has to do with their range liability insurance policy.
So you can shoot your AR-15 there but not your AR-10... interesting...
They've never given me a straight answer but I believe this to be true!
    AK haters gonna hate!!! :boom:

No steel at the pistol that I know of but I'm not sure at the rifle. I never asked, I just shoot sandstone rocks into pieces when I want to hit something that will move. He may make an exception, but Jrb knows him a lot better than I do.

Rifle side has nothing, barely a target stand when I was there last. But the rest of the facilities are top notch and they're nice people. I have a few feelers working on some private land that would allow us to team up with a local vendor I know and do something very special. If that doesn't play out by middle of next week, I am leaning towards Shiny Top.

It's got some tables and other stuff on the rifle side now and they are planning a covered area just like their pistol side. At least that's what JR said when I was there a few weeks ago with my sister-in-law. It's by no means developed but there is still plenty of room.

    Scott, that would be cool.
Jeremy, by all means, let us know what they have. If what they offer is better I will be the first to say so. It could very well be.
I can talk to Doc on tuesday or wednesday and see what he is willing to let us do. See what they will allow and awhat they won't. It could be that overall, Texas Star my give us more of what we want.
Scott, if TXMGO can help get something together, that will work for all of us, that would be great. They sound like they would fit right in.

Even I am not set on Shiney Top. I put it out there as something that, if nothing else, will give us something. More than we have now. Especially for long term, the more info we have on more places the better for us and the range. I'm sure they both have pros and cons.
