Cotrarian no. Utterly lacking in any trust whotsoever in a glorified real estate broker OH YEA.

Not to be a Debby downer, but anyone who has trust in a politician needs to have their head examined. Along those lines you are just being normal.

    To All,

We have a considerable number of folks here who would prefer THE HILLARY BEAST to Donald Trump, if you can believe that.

    yours, satx

Man, are people really so stupid to think that not liking one candidate is the same as supporting the other candidate. That shit is getting old. You can hate trump and still not support Hilary. Anyone who can't understand that need to go take some critical thinking classes. This election was trash period. The lesser trash won, but you still put trash in the white house. No amount of using the other candidate as an argument is going to change the fact that trash was still put in the white house. Congratulations. That's something to be proud of, I guess.

I bet every one does it next election to, and the election after that, and the election after that. On and on until America finally crumbles under the massive weight of all that trash we elected. It doesn't matter if you're slowing the rate of that collapse slightly. If things don't change, it's still going to happen. You're not fixing the problem. You're putting a bandied over the bullet wound. That's not treatment. That's not going to make America great again.

Is it better that Trump won than Hilary? Yeah, nobody is arguing against that. If people would pull their heads out of their asses and actually think about the words that I and several other members here have said, they'd know that. But it's so much easier to just keep shouting over us, make dumb ass assumptions that have no basis in reality, and ignore the cold hard truth that they are part of the problem. You keep telling us that we should have campaigned harder. Well, where the **** were you? You keep saying that Trump wasn't the best choice, so why weren't you out there campaigning for the best choice? Why does it fall on us and not you too?

Because we are realists, and accept that perfection in government is unobtainable.
Thus, we support the best viable candidate and accept the missteps.
We bit our tongue for 8 long suck ass years. Now it's time to quit bitching and start encouraging.
Get a couple more decades of disappointment behind ya, then let us know life works.
    OK?

It's not so much that we don't know what he is not or what failings Trump. Trash he may well turn out to be.
But. What he is not is the usual trash. Something people in both parties are sick and tired of. Now lets see if either party jas listened and quits giving us trash to choose from.
On his own, there is little he can do that would be anywhere near as bad as what the alternative would have been able to do. And would have if given the chance. Just how bad he can be remains to be seen.
I think most people don't like him not because of who he is so much as they have no idea what he will be like as POTUS. No political history. The fear of the unknown.
At this point, I would rather face the fear of the unknown rather than the known evil of the alternative.

Not surprised. I worked with my cousin in construction for a few months. 75% of the day was filled with the typical talk radio lineup: Beck, then Rush then Hannity. Beck was anti-Trump, Rush was pro-Trump but seemingly because he hated Hillary too much to not support an alternative, and Hannity swooned over Trump like a teenage girl with Justin Bieber. My cousin always argued that Trump was by far from his first pick, but it was better than Hillary. I always retorted with "With the exception of a few things, Trump and Hillary will be the same" and I think we're starting to see that.

As someone else posted above, Gorsuch was the spoonful of sugar in this case, and Trump has done some good things at times, but he's also already abandoned some of those good efforts at the slightest sign of resistance. I expect we'll see more of that each week. In the end, he'll be no different than a Chris Christie or Kasich. A moderate on his good days.

Because the election is OVER, Maverick44, and we need to get behind our Republican president. The snowflake liberals are NOT going to support him and sounds to me like YOU and zinc washer are not going to either. This guy has only been in office for a little over three months and you two, among others on here, just can't get over what happened. Give him a chance, please!

Check post histories. You'll find that many of us campaigned for who we felt was better. That person didn't win and the deck was set.

Some chose to continue to berate the only chance we had of getting through another 4 years, others could see the bigger issues. Those who saw the bigger issues worked to pull as many as possible to Trumps side of the fence. Those who couldn't were happy to try to weaken him, even if it meant throwing the election to Hillary and loosing SCOTUS for the foreseeable future, among other things.

Well, I figure Ginsberg is the next to go, and if Trump can get another pick like Gorsuch on the court, then our gun rights should be safe for 20 years at least.
