I also just noticed there is no way to place a "title" to a post.
Old version it was available in the "advanced" area.

I would also like to add I hope my posts are not construed as complaints, merely pointing out differences I am finding.
The hard work in getting this going is appreciated.

FWIW, understand the need for the change and appreciate all the hard work that is ongoing to please the users. That said, Admin might want to look in to something like this after some time passes and the forum is rock solid. Appears to be an addon that allows users to set number of posts per page.

Sure do miss that ability. Thanks again for all the effort thus far!

@ZX9RCAM, definitely not taking any of this as "complaining". We really appreciate the input and recommendations! There's going to be some growing pains, probably for a few weeks, as with pretty much any major site transition like this. That being said, we can certainly try to get as many of these ideas implemented as possible.

I'm going to create a separate thread here in just a bit, specifically for just the design-related issues, since there are a LOT of variables at work in tweaking those things. Rest assured, we are on the case and trying to get things done! ;)

    *UPDATE*

Created a thread. Please post any design-related issues over here, so we can keep things organized. That way this thread can stay focused more on functionality issues or broken site components.

Since it absolutely exploded, I haven't followed this thread since my last post so excuse me if this is a repeat.

After all the adjustments, the main thing I miss from the previous software is clicking Recent or New posts (whatever the therm) and getting a full list of current threads with the ones I haven't read/posted in bold text and the others in normal text titles.

Well done on the transfer folks, thanks!

@Coiled, that's definitely something we'll have to incorporate and refine. It's probably the number one thing everyone has asked for. Makes sense, it just makes things easy! ;)

Also, one of the things I plan on doing in the coming days/week is probably a tutorial page with some quick and easy visuals to help make sense of the new site layout, where various things are, how to use them, etc. There's some great new features here now. Just a matter of figuring out where the heck they are! ;)

I apologize as well if this was asked.....

Is there a multi quote function anymore?

There is, but the usage is a bit odd and unnatural I think. Basically, click the bottom right "Reply" button on each post you want to quote, and it will just keep adding them to the quickreply window at the bottom of the page. This isn't quite obvious, as you'd normally expect to see something that actually says "Multi-quote" on it.

One deficiency is, apparently this will only work on a single page. So if it's a multi page thread, moving between pages, you'll lose the quotes. This is less than desirable, though one quick way around it is to click reply, copy the quote in the quickapply window, maybe paste in a text editor / notepad, and go through however many pages you need to, if you're doing a lot of quotes. Then just paste it all back in, if that makes sense.

Is there a way to "mark a forum read" so only the new posts are highlighted next time you visit?

    Thanks.....Pachucko

Top left, under "Home" if you have FORUMS tab selected.

ETA- I see you are looking to mark a specific topic, my post will mark everything as read.

And thanks Sig, I can live with it, probably easier on the desktop then iPad. Definitely needs t the end of the world. :)

That's what I was looking for, thanks.

It gives you the option of marking the subforum read, which is what I like to do.

Please tell me how. PM is ok if it's some big secret. I'm running an adblock and ghostery. I don't see adds, but on the right side of the page the box at the top says SPONSORS and is blank, the box below, which takes up the rest of the page even as you scroll down, says RECENT THREADS, and seems to be a running list of all the recent posts.

Because my zoom level is increased to make the words bigger, the avatars and usernames take up the left 25% of the screen, the sidebar on the right takes up another 25%, so I'm only left with the 50% of the screen in the middle to actually try and read what I came here for.

I'm not going to use a phone to access the site, but when I did look at it on a phone, the sidebar is not there. Is there a way to view the mobile site from a desktop? If your adblocker can disable the sidebar, that's even better.
I use adblock to block all sorts of stuff I don't want to see, not just ads. The exact way to do it depends on your adblock version, but there should an option similar to "block an ad on this page." Once you select that you can highlight sections of a website. Sometimes it take s a couple tries to get it right... Go practice on a website you'll never goto like Huffpo or something.

If you're not seeing the recent threads sidebar on the right when viewing from a desktop, please let me know what browser and adblock you are running. Mine will block the sponsors under the sponsor heading, but doesn't stop the column from being there, or block the recent threads sidebar below it.

Feel free to take that to PM's, but not the purpose of this thread.

People are free to do what they want but, please be considerate of the fact there was and continues to be a significant amount of time and cost involved in not only updating this site for security, but actually improving the performance and usability so it's a better experience for everyone. This site is pretty sparse on advertising as it is.

Speaking of advertising, what about Ground Zero Precision?
    Did they leave us?

Quick update for tonight. Modded the quickreply and full post editor, to make them a bit sharper and easier to see.

Also, tweaked the quote blocks to stand out a bit more.
