DAMN MILLENIALTARDS GET OFF MY LAWN

Exactly, no one in our generation has any illusion about Social Security and the ponzi scheme that it is. Even with learning less wages for the same work as our older brethren most Millennials in their 30s have a better retirement than their Xer and Boomer counterparts of the same ages.

Funny how we're supposedly the liberals and leaches wanting a handout, but we're more self reliant.

BTW Millennials voted in GW Bush and Trump. Just saying. 41% of Millennials polled voted for Trump. You all claim fake news but BELIEVE Them when you think that they all voted for liberals.

And all these worthless 18-30 years are the ones that will decide ALL of our futures next Tuesday and in 2020.

Just remember kids, the minimum wage was 1.70 in 1970.. In REAL dollars thats 11.35 in 2018. So the minimum a boomer was earning was 11.35. So let's not act like you guys weren't starting off with better wages and lower costs. You were.

And then there is social security. The average boomer paid in just about 35000 dollars (total) into Social security. they can expect to receive a benefit if they retire at 67 and live only to 77 of 380,000 dollars. A 1000% increase in their investment. Millennials now make up 35% of the work force. They pay the majority of the social security dollars and FICA taxes... Oh and by the way.. Social security now eats up 30% of the budget and we are now paying 8% of our entire federal budget paying on interest for loans we have to take to pay for social security.

So excuse me if I don't kiss your asses while I pay for your retirement.

So, I was thinking about the minimum wage difference, and inflation, etc. And I realized you left out a key component...the cost of living. Inflation doesn’t directly correlate to the cost of living. Certain types of goods have had their prices drop over the years when adjusted for inflation (and some even without adjustment).

    Interesting site I found.

Is D.P. 'another' whining commie or am do I have my signals crossed?

Perhaps just a millennial complainer or am I way off base..?

Plain ole complaining is fine by me, but not if it's inspired by Lenin, Stalin, Trotsky,
Bukharin, Marx - (not Groucho) or any number of rat bag commies like obama's favorite bomb thrower pal ayers, another low life...

He's not a complainer. I fit in that millennial category since I'm 33 and don't even have remotely the same ideals that many claim we have. Most of my buddies are the same way. We all voted Trump and continue to vote R unless a libertarian is a better choice. I've been here awhile and most that have been here know I don't follow the sterotype that many claim us to be.

I served my country, I go outside and enjoy life, I fully believe the constitution is the law of the land and nothing shall override it, no matter who thinks they can. Obummer can suck an egg and so can Clinton. Dark Priest is a good dude. Just because the new generation doesn't work the same way the old one does, doesn't mean its wrong. I'm in IT, I won't work the same job for 30 years, it makes no sense to me. I have an IRA, I don't need handouts, and I plan for the future while still enjoying the present. Same as him, I'm not deluded enough to think Social Security will be around.

In the end, its the media and the few loud folks that made our generation out to be what it appears. Those that are liberals, socialists, or whatever the **** you want to call them aren't as big of a group as people think. Additionally, who raised them? You don't think their parents played a role in who they are today? Perhaps letting the school system and typical liberal bullshit run their social development? Adults to need to be held accountable, but much of who they grew up to be is from the development they had as a kid, at least that is my perspective. What about those that spit on the Vietnam vets when they came back? You think those adults who birthed millennials played no part? That's all I have to say about this topic. Take it or leave it.

    I'll take it TexasBrandon.

You sound like a normal, U.S. loving, hard working guy.

    Thanks!

P.S. Some of my best friends are millennials, like my Grandchildren, who're are also hard working, non-entitled acting, good people whose parents did a good job.

They value our country and what it stands for, which I'm certain pisses off some of their generation.

D.P. is a teacher. Teaches Communist Socialization, IIRC.:what:

JK, buddy. D.P. is a good guy. Younger folks never believe what the older generation tells them.

IDK.....I hauled hay for $.03 a bale when I was 16. Twist the math on that schnit.

Trimmed apartments for $.07 a foot in my late 20's. I've worked hard and cheap at the same time.

Sooo....no, we didn't get anything handed to us, and it wasn't easy making a dollar.

The one thing they never taught in school in my day, was how to make money, and you couldn't Google it up, either.

I think it's quaint how many people here still think that retirement will still be a thing in 10 years......

....we'll all be working and paying for the government largess until we can physically work no longer.....then Obamacare will "retire" us as we sleep in the hospital.....

Social Security and Medicare are increasingly eating up the federal budget. Combined right now they are over 50% of the federal budget.. If you add in Medicaid its 64%... It continues to increase.. We won't be able to afford ANYTHING except those programs if we continue to allow them to go on.

SS is screwed but it will be difficult to fix it without screwing people who have paid in to it for decades.

A few people acting shocked in this thread, but we’ve discussed it before.

So, what do we do about it?
How do we deal with the people who have paid into these involuntary programs for 50 years or so?

When I was your age, I felt much like you do now.
Thankfully, I never figured on drawing a dime from SS.
I figured it'd run dry and be done away with by now.
If I do draw SS when I retire, it'll just be a bonus. But I'll dang sure apply for it when the time comes. Like any thinking man, I ain't fond of the government taking money out of my paycheck.

That won't change. I'll keep making, they'll keep taking.

    Gunz are icky.
One thing that could be done is to go after all the frauds on disability.
As an example I know of a perfectly capable 27yr old who got some quack Dr. to declare him as some sort of extreme social anxiety case. Little bastard gets a check now. Claims he can’t work.
Not a damn thing wrong with him. He is just playing the system.
There are hundreds of thousands if not millions just like him.
THAT is where the focus should be.

I understand. But you don't have time to work if your a "true parent." We have 3 kids... and home school. My wife can barely make a phone call. But I know that'll change the older they get. They depend on her very much right now.
Hell no you can’t make a phone call homeschooling three kids. I’ve been there.

Thanks man! I read some of your old posts and saw you’re a golfer! Respect

What? Dude!!!!What part of that post, where I was DEFENDING you, did you not get? Look it over again. Right here, on this thread .

I didn't pick up a club until I was in my mid 40's . It wasn't easy. I model my swing after the great Sam Sneed.

Like I said though , ( look back), most folks are clueless as to what it takes to be good at golf. Just to make sure, your "card" is a PGA professional tour card, right?

That's pretty damn awesome, if so. PM me your real name , ( or... just in case... ) your professional playing name, so I can follow you.

Best wishes, and "keep it in the short grass".. ( whatever that means. )

Had a buddy of mine tell me I reminded him of Michael Jackson . I asked why, he said: because you both wear one glove for no apparent reason.
