I helped my buddy move one time. We spent the night at his inlaws. About 5:30am, I hear this lady calling her husband. Over and over, and really loud. We got there about 2am, so I was hoping to sleep a little later than 5:30.

I finally gave up and moved from the living couch to the car. I slept a couple more hours then went back inside.

Turns out there was a parrot that imitated the lady of the house calling her husband. Sounded just like the lady that lived there.

Issac, our first Goffin's lived with us for 26 years. He was wild caught so we don't know how old he was when we got him. Twinkie, our Cockatiel, lived with us for 29 years.

Our current Fid, Munchkin, will turn 5 in April. They are our children.

Extremely smart, extremely affectionate, always entertaining, and totally crazy. It's a package deal.

Around here it's the flocks of wild parrots. Sociable suckers but when they pause in the trees in my front yard you can't even hear yourself think while indoors. Nuttin like a hundred or so parrots all talkin over the day's events and where to eat dinner.

There's a local flock of about 15 here in almost downtown Houston.

There is also one in Richardson. Ironically they tend to show up at the local animal shelter, and the woods behind the junior high near the shelter.

They were looking for their kids, old joke....

"I took my dad to the mall once to get him new shoes (he is 66). We decided to grab a bite at the food court. I noticed he was watching a teenager sitting next to him… the teenager had spiked hair in all different colors — blue, red, green and orange.

My dad kept staring at her. The teenager would keep looking and my dad would be staring every time. When the teenager had had enough, she sarcastically asked, “Whats the matter old man, never done anything wild in your life?”

Knowing my dad, I quickly swallowed my food so I wouldn’t choke on his response — I knew he would have a good one.

In classic style he responded without batting an eyelid: “Got stoned once and fucked a parrot. Just wondering if you were my daughter.”

I wouldn't worry too much about whomever stuck the knife in the hole. If however, there had not been a hole I'd certainly reappraise the situation.
