As far as Lucky Gunner goes, I buy from them occasionally to support all of the ballistics info and YouTube videos that they publish. They do a ton of work in that area so I don't mind buying from them sometimes.

Kind of like supporting your LGS once in a while by paying a little more which I would definitely do if there was an LGS around here worth a spit.

It is my understanding, Lucky Gunner and Bulk Ammo are the same animal.

I was thinking the same thing after visiting them today. They do go as far as listing different addresses and different states, but I suppose that doesn't mean anything really.

Paying a little more is one thing, but sales tax on top when it's not required of them just turns me off.

I use TulAmmo in my AK's.. They shoot ok at relatively short distances. I roll my own pistol ammo so I cannot tell you how the steel cased 9mm or .45 ACP shoot.

In my experience, TulAmmo (75 gr .223) is not accurate out of a 1:7 AR barrel.
Groups are erratic and not consistent at over 100 yds. If you want cheap ammo the best I go with is 55gr .223 American Eagle.

I’m sitting on three lowers I can build into nice rifles. I have come to hate my ruger mpr. I can run steel case in it.

Davidson Defense and Combat Armory have had regular sales on uppers. I saw one for under $200 for a complete upper. May have not had the BCG, but still a great deal.

I had the same experience. When the coating gets hot it becomes sticky and jams.
    Steel ammo not for me.
Do you know how hot it would take to "melt" lacquer coating? A lot more heat than what the barrel could handle, butane torch won't even burn it off. The sticky comes from burnt oil/cleaner/lube in the chamber from the gas escaping from around the metal case, as it doesn't seal the chamber like brass.

I have an AR that loves steel case ammo and one that will not run it at all. Just to keep it simple, I didn't restock the steel ammo when I ran out.

We have run a lot of steel 9mm ammo here. With striker fired guns the failure rate is near 20%. With a hammer fired gun, failure rate is near 0%. Those hard primers need a hammer to smack them to make them go. Or, that's been our experience.

And you have to be aware that the steel doesn't expand and rebound like brass ammo. This will cause extraction problems from time to time. We've never noticed and stickiness from melted lacquer.

I don't have a bolt 7.62X39 so I use steel. My rifle was made to eat steel so that's what I feed it. I buy the good steel case ammo ... Golden Tiger. I don't use steel cases in anything else and I do reload other than for that rifle.

7.62X39 empty cases are more expensive than factory loaded steel ammo.

If 5.56X45, then no...use brass. 5.56X45 is very cheap to reload. If you will be shooting competitively, get the equipment and learn now.
