Each person can do whatever they want, you can consider my advice or say it's balderdash, that does not matter to me. I was only discussing what I believe is best just as others are doing likewise.

For me though, I must admit, it has little to do with comfort and more to do with the practicalities of carrying and why I carry. Carrying has never been comfortable for me and now that I am getting on in years and Arthur I. Tis is a constant companion - carrying extra magazines is almost always uncomfortable. For some reason though, I still do it; however, if you are uncomfortable carrying a spare magazine or better yet two, or two speedloaders, go with what you believe is best for you.
I have heard a man that I respected very much say, "Guns aren't supposed to be comfortable. They are supposed to be comforting." He was old school law enforcement, and I do miss him. Another argument that has been seconded many times is: If the gun is not somewhat comfortable, then it is likely to not be carried. I know folks that adhere to both of these notions. My choices boil down to what I can conceal. Many new permit holders draw attention to themselves by constantly checking to see if the gun is showing, or printing through their clothes. I'm not a big man, but I can conceal full sized autos with just a little modification to my choices of clothing. I always carry at least to extra magazines. I haven't been asked about it even once. Is it uncomfortable? Sure, but most people can get used to carrying just about anything. I just wish I could conceal, and carry, a BCM RECCE with a 16" bbl and 3 extra 30 rd magazines, all year round; but it just isn't practical. It would certainly be "comforting"!

People who think every little screw on their gun needs to be torqued to over 80 ft/lbs and set with red loctite.

People who buy a handguard, and get a little tube of red stuff, and think it's a lubricant.

No real man would carry a Lewis gun. The Lewis has a wussie water jacket. Our lord Tommy Gunn knew that only air should cool a barrel. If things get to hot switch to your pocket mortar for a few rounds.

Lewis guns didn't have water jackets, it's an air jacket
