Yeah - that prosecutor is an activist nut job that ardently defended the recent looting and burning. She might charge these poor folks for threatening a "peaceful" protest, but no grand jury in the state would indite. These people clearly were in fear for there lives. During the Carlson interview the gentleman recalled the 7-11 that was looted and burned to the ground in STL- live on TV and not a Cop to be seen. He stated he wasn't going to allow his house to be burned and his family's lives taken. Crazy - I got the impression that this gents politics might be a little more than left of center. Love that he defended his hearth and home in any case. Shame he'll be run out of town on a rail.

2nd Amendment has nothing to with politics, or it shouldn't have anything to with a person's political inclinations. He did the right thing, for the right reasons, and was simply exercising his Constitutional right to defend himself, his family, and his property.

When the "protesters" broke through the gates to a private gated community, they broke the law. They were trespassing on private property, and he was simply defending that property. End of story. The MSM is going to try and portray this man and his wife as being something that they are not. That they were pointing guns at "peaceful protesters". When you are breaking down gates and trespassing on private property, that isn't peacefully protesting. Those are criminal acts.

I'm 100% behind the couple, but if one is in fear for their life, you wouldn't walk outside your house.
I keep going back and forth on that. My inclination would be to take up a defensive position where the crowd couldn't just bum rush me, but at the same time the way they directly confronted the rioters probably saved them from a lot of property damage. He also verbally gave every one of them a trespass notice.

That's very likely, IF they were destroying property along the way to the mayor's house.

I have no issues with them doing what they did.

My issue is, if you are inside your house, and there is a large group of people outside, the last thing you would do is go outside IF you are in fear for your life.

Unless they lit your place on fire while you were cowering in your home thinking you were safe.

Sure, but there are is a big difference between cowering, and taking a defensive position....
This whole discussion has really been weighing on me the last couple of days. What's the middle ground between seeking defilade behind a front facing window sill to enable targeted defensive fire if necessary, or standing in your yard in front of the Good Lord and everybody advising the angry mob that the first Molotov Cocktail thrown in my direction will be met with immediate and deadly force. The first approach is clearly more safe and invites less potential confrontation. It does, though, require one to shoot attackers that aren't aware of your absolute intentions of defending yourself, and thus can't think twice about their bad decisions before acting. So the second approach obviously exposes oneself to a whole crap ton of bad things: Bum rush (admittedly unlikely with that crowd of vaginas), no cover or concealment, needing to watch your wife's six while engaging the mob - thus potentially dealing with two fronts, and possibly further escalating an already volatile situation - essentially inciting violence if one or more of those assholes is feeling froggy. The front yard tact, however, sure does pull some of the starch out of the mob mentality. It allows each individual member to give a long hard thought to whether or not he/she really wants to commit to joining the destruction party and if it's worth their very life.

Hell, guys. I'd probably go out into the front freaking yard and be scared shitless in the process. My bride would be in the house though. One less thing...

Bill, I made it finally to a point, where fear of dying isn't as much an issue for me! I am in no way wanting to rush things by any means, but fear isn't something I give considration when I have something that needs to be done.

Damn the torpedos, and full speed ahead!

    Amen.
    - Maercus Lutrell, who is a real bad-ass, said that fear is a force that sharpens your senses and being afraid is a state of paralysis in which you can't do anything. For me anyway - a good dose of fear has historically provided singular focus to my effort and intent. I'm too old and crotchety to be afraid of stuff!
