I just Googled it. I had never heard of them. I see what they are about, and yes Ben, I don't care to discuss the merits of their viewpoints. My grandfather fought against such things in WW2.

I'm surprised that this thread has made it 5 pages and no one has mentioned the most salient reason (imho): It's actually not misguided, in that there are millions of current and former service members and law enforcement with hands-on training, often bordering on what others might call an education, even, and a ton of real world experience with the AR platform rifle in 5.56.

While it's not hard to argue that there are a plethora of 'better' options, for the vast, overwhelming majority of people who buy 5.56 firearms and ammo, they either don't know, care, or have simply decided that the .223/5.56 platform and chambering work for their needs.

Some simply refuse to drive a rifle that costs north of $2 a round to run. In normal times 223/556 is about as cheap as it gets for rifle ammo.

And it is fun to shoot

I was just going off his screen name and tossing a snarky zinger in that direction. I appologise if it stirred any trouble.

On many gun forums the trash from that type sight blow in from time to time. Some put the number 88 or 12 after their screen name others think they are really slick and try a screen name like this guy. They need to be ran off quickly lest they are become a cancer.

The so called ALT Right are just marxist by another name and a slightly different "utopia" in mind.

ETA I think most know my feelings on that particular type of trash after the thread of the guy wearing a Klan mask for covid to the grocery store. Let me add a fellow officer was murdered on duty by one of that brand of trash.
