My wife, I love her dearly, also gave me "the talk" about fishing poles <rolleyes>. No matter how much I explained that you need diff "tools" for diff presentations/fish etc, she insisted that one or two poles could/would/should do it all. :o I told her that I would pair it down to that if she agreed to limit her shoes to same. (Note: a typical bass fishing trip in my beloved bass boat was ten or twelve poles and 6 on deck baited and ready to go.)

I started clearing out rods a few years back cuz for various reasons I don't fish as much as before I got so damn old/crippled and fishing/boating/driving got so expensive. I had close to 50rods and about half that many reels. Now I'm down to about 15-20 and some that I don't really use I still can't part with...

About 10 years ago after being laid off from a towing job, I wound up running motor coaches and transit buses for a while. We were providing transportation for Intel's big expansion in Hillsboro - driving construction workers from the parking area to the main gate for their job site. A couple of the other drivers, funny old farts, started calling me Sasquatch because I was one of the biggest people in the crew (6'4" and at the time I weighed in between 305 and 315lbs) and I guess I sort of have a Sasquatch like gait when I walk. The nickname stuck. I've adopted it and have used it in various names since.
My older brother is about the same size and his nickname is Moose

    This is a great thread

    My name actually stands for

    Moving
    To
    America

I was raised in Texas, moved to NC when I was a teenager. Joined the USMC and then followed my woman at the time up to NJ. I was stuck there for awhile while I went to college. The gun laws (and damn near every law) really sucked so when I was able to, I moved across the river to Pennsylvania. Back then PA had signs like below so I figured it was agreat name for the gun forum I joined at the time

About a year and a half of living there I got a job opportunity back here so I finally came back home. I was glad to have my vote as well as my wifes vote for President Trump help to win PA back in 2016

I have upwards of 20. About half I made myself. I have been know to give away rod and reel combos to kids that could not afford one. Probably 30-40. I would buy and try them, not like them for whatever reason, and let some struggling kid borrow it on the lake shore. And let them keep it. Give them lures as well. With parents consent. Never without it.
The local VA hospital has a park and a lake they stock for resident patients. They let me fish when I took my son for appointments. As a thank you, I gathered about 20 combos, fixed them up and put new line on them. Then donated them and 4 walmart bags of lures and tackle to the hospital recreations dept at the domiciliary.
By the way. The lake behind the Temple VA hospital has some nice catfish and bass in it. As well as a large perch population. Good sized ones too.
