I have not seen anyone on this forum "whine" about Ted going to Cancun.
Again, it's about optics, and how it makes him look like as big a part of the privileged class as Pelosi and Newsome, and he should have known not to do something that high profiled that he had to know would make him a MSM target as it obviously has. And he knows it too !
No one cares that he went to Cancun. It's just sad that one of our leading politicians would be stupid enough to do it after the Newsome, Pelosi and other high profile stupid things. He just does not need the bad press, and he knows it !
Pelosi and Newsom did things that actively campaigned against others doing.
Cruz did something everybody else wanted to do and Cruz never once said “we all need to stay in our cold homes and deal with it during this time of crisis”.
Dems would have found a way to bitch, regardless. But the supposed conservatives/libertarians getting pissy is pretty disappointing. Thought we had enough sense to know better.

I cannot afford to travel out of country, nor do I begrudge him a vacation. IMO the man has at least tried to do something to right some issues, one man, virtually alone, because others are afraid to loose their Seats, cannot solve a damn thing. The man needed some time off, stop being Negative Nancy's, find a way to help make the change we need. If you have an idea email those in office, if you know someone, who would be a good fit anywhere in the political system, if it is yourself, even at the lowest level, encourage them to run. The only way for change to occur is to make it happen, there is no Magic Lamp to wish upon.

Does anyone really believe that the goal of the globalists is not to subjugate and control Texas just as they do any other nation state? We need a new resurgence of Texas pride and independence to save and elevate Texas to a greater standing among the nations, to defend our freedoms; we do not need more denigration of our mores, our customs, even our faux pas, our mistakes...
Has anyone here, while traveling along streets and highways at high speeds, never marvelled that we flawed humans are able, mostly, to avoid collisions?

A) Not a stupid thing
B) Not something to rag on a person for.

I‘m suppose to be in Cozumel right now. . . . I really needed to be home to manage my household during the freeze. (MIL wasn’t going to make it to watch the kiddo’s and travel on the 16th looked really iffy when we canceled).
My neighbor is in Mexico right now. . . He really should have stayed. . (Or at the least turned his water off). His exposed sprinkler pipes are obviously frozen.
I’m mostly pissed that I’m not in Mexico. I don’t envy others for leaving. I think if i was a senator, I might try and remember that optics are more important s than substance in this day and age.

It's a shame that someone who knew he was gone wasn't able to prep his exposed sprinkler pipes.
I spent about an hour last Friday wrapping up mine, but it was still the only pipes I had which burst.
As I see it, the lame stream media does not have President Trump to go after, so they are looking for anyone not on their side of the aisle to go after. Right now that is Sen. Cruz. A few weeks ago it was him hunting, today it's a family vacation. Even though he is a US Senator, he is human and has a family. I WILL NOT begrudge him for spending time with his family and trying to have a vacation.

Unfortunately there are a lot of voters who are influenced by the MSM, and so he should have known better that to throw this raw meat to them. I don't care if he went to Cancun, I just care that he did something so visibly stupid.
