The jury disagreed, and I would've as well. If he had OD'd, and died later, it is what it is.

That ignores the video and the bystanders legitimately questioning what was happening. If the officer had taken his knee off and acted a bit more humanely the opinions of him that have swept the country wouldn't be causing harm.
Bystanders question everything. I have had bystanders screaming all sorts of things when I am well within law and policy. The bystanders are ignorant morans and thier opinions are not a reliable basis on which to judge an officer's intent or the legality of the his actions. Law, policy and training are how his actions should be judged, not the feelings of bozos on the sidelines.

LEOs get murdered every day from individuals acting exactly like George Floyd did. Every day. Understand?

And many lives are saved everyday when LEOs are forced to restrain individuals like Officer Chauvin was forced to do.

Stop being emotionally manipulated by the media.
It is ALWAYS a tragedy when a law enforcement person is killed in the line of duty. Please amend your statement that it happens EVERY DAY, AS THAT IS FALSE.

Agreed that should be the case. That's not what happened here though.

An appeal is exactly what the leftist's want (and likely one of the reasons for Largemouth Maxine's visit, to make that possible).

The appeal process will make certain that the narrative stays in the Baghdad Bob media for months, and let them milk that cow for as long as they can.

Also takes the focus away from PotatoHead O'biden.

    I'm manipulated by facts.

360 cops died in 2020. TRAGIC.

The cops MURDERED over 1000 last year. a 3 to 1 ratio.

Look, as I've said previously. There are about 27 personality types that are attracted to law enforcement type jobs and about 18 or 19 of them should be restricted from serving.

My mother was a cop, I've rented rooms to cops (and lived with) in Fort Worth at my house in Fort Worth, my brother worked in TDCJ for 10 years in the largest prison in Texas. I'm not apathetic to how dangerous and stressful the job is. I've also had cops draw their guns on me for a simple traffic stop MULTIPLE times and it was all unnecessary because they didn't understand how to de-escalate.

In fact, I was pulled over on Sunday on the way back from Kempner sighting in my guns. I had guns in my back seat and in my glovebox and on me and Sgt. Ortega was polite and communicative and she didn't stress out in a situation that could have gone badly (I got off with a warning.) SHE understood there was no need to escalate the situation. A lot of police officers do not.

What would make this situation easier in our country is abolishing the STUPID and UNNECESSARY laws that make damn near everything a crime in this country.

Was George Floyd a piece of shit? YES

Was he probably committing a crime? YES

Did he deserve the amount of force that was being used against him... FOR NINE MINUTES before he died? No

What makes us a better society and civilization than most others in the world and throughout history is how we treat the worst in society, not how we treat the best.

I don’t think you understand the definition of murder.

I’d have seriously considered it in addition to not waiving the right to speedy trial. Why give the prosecution more time to stack the case deeper since they already hold all the advantages.

I'd have waived trial by jury and left it to the judge. There was no way he was ever going to be innocent with a jury. I never saw them doing anything but convicting him.

    That's if I was him.

And here we have much of our problems. Making a hero and martyr out of criminals. This is why law and order are in such disarray in this country. Politicians are trying to drive a wedge between the citizens and LE in this country.
And the people believe it because they've been taught by the nanny state and it's state education to believe it.
