@Dougw1515 has been MIA from the forum since at least May 24th. Anyone know anything about him or any way to get in touch with him? Reading some of his last posts, he might have just got his feelings hurt and just decided to find greener pastures though. Thoughts?

Actually not. He actually liked to stir himself and pretty much threw back whatever was thrown at him. I was reading some of his last posts, and it did seem maybe he did get a little hurt, and maybe he decided to go elsewhere? But usually, he seemed to have a pretty thick skin for the most part.

It's not personal. He and I agreed on some things, and disagreed on other things. I actually enjoyed debating with him on things we disagreed about.

Maybe do like one member did, and use this thread as a jumping off point to get some weekly, or monthly local meet-ups, either for lunch or dinner, or even, (gasp!) shooting!

The more I thought it over, and the more it's been pointed out to me, I'm now thinking this thread and the idea was huge waste of time and a really bad idea.

It really isn't mine or anyone's business if people go MIA on this forum or any other forum for that matter. Probably not really my place to go poking my nose where it doesn't belong either.

Reason I asked is another member informed by PM that this thread was bullshit, and it wasn't any of my business to know where anyone was, and to mind my own business. And said all I did was sit around and post all day sticking my nose in where it didn't belong, and maybe I should find another forum.

I've been a member of another forum for 21 years now, the subjects are computer related but also have a very popular General Discussion where anything goes but tread very, very lightly on politics and personal jabs unless in fun and violations won't be tolerated. I've had my share of warnings thru the years. That being said, several others have been there just as long and we have all become keyboard friends, I've met a few in person, one stayed the night, etc. Many years ago my life was turning upside down all around me and I reached out to those guys, rather they reached out to me with even cell phone numbers but I asked for neither. All across the country not just Texas. We still PM at times and of course post in the threads. I believe having these type relationships in a forum can be a good thing since we all bring our own life experience to the keyboard and the sharing can be very helpful at times.

I don't always agree with you, but I don't agree with everything with anyone on everything.
That said, it really isn't a bad idea. Not great, but not bad. More range meet ups or just plain get togethers would would probably do it. I know I personally have made some personal friends on the forum. I have made some from small get tothers too, not just the semi annual meets.They at least will want to know if anything happens.
If anything happens to me, my family knows how and who to contact.
Some may think that those on the forum don't or won't care,,,,,well, they can always opt out on giving personal numbers.
I don't have anyone on ignore. Even the ones I don't care for. There are some that if they stop posting today, I won't really miss. But there are some that I would. If nothing else, they make me rethink my own opinions on things.
Whether or no you should be here is up to you. Not random members who don't like your posts. Sometimes I like them, and other times I just SMDH and wonder WTF????
Who anyone chooses to give contact info is up to them. There are those that will wonder what happen if not actually care. And nobody is forcing anyone to give that info to anyone else. Or even stay here for that matter.

I say this as your friend: get up and shrug it off.

I’m confident, by most of the folks I know here, that we don’t really care what someone says in private about an idea of yours being bullcrap or not. I certainly won’t respect anyone that does that. Just shrug it off. You’re intentions are good. If it pissed people off they can call the wambulance.
